Alabama 31, Oklahoma State 34

A fitting ending to the season.  We catch every break possible for the offense and when they absolutely have to make something happen....JP gets sacked.

Congratulations to Oklahoma State.  They played a great game, and Dantrell Savage is one hell of a back.  Best of luck next season.  The good news, there are only 8 more months 'til the 2007 season kicks off.  Roll Tide.

A fitting end, indeed.
I'm sure I'm not alone in my feeling that even a win today would have, in the words of Scott Fitzgerald, "savored of anticlimax", and would not have served to assuage the disappointment of the 2006 season, nor would it have provided much in the way of distraction from the larger issues (i.e. hiring a f'n head coach) facing the program.

For what it's worth, there are quite a few very talented, hard-working young men coming back next season. With skilled and creative leadership, they will likely perform very well.

Roll Tide - onward to 2007.

While it certainly...
...wouldn't have salvaged the season, it would be nice to think that we'd have had four winning seasons since since 2000 instead of three. As it stands:

3 losing seasons
3 winning seasons
1 .500 season

This is Alabama football?

Point well taken.
I really kind of feel like I've been off my feed since the Miss State game. It's by no means resignation - I was no less emotional for the LSU and AU games than usual.

I think perhaps I just want this season to be over and done, I want Mal and Company to defy expectation and not f**k up the hiring process any more than they already have, and I anticipate a renewed since of optimism going forward.

Is this how Bama fans felt in the late nineteen-fifties? I reckon so.

Has anyone...
...heard any explanation of why we switched back to the three man front on OSU's game winning field goal drive? I thought the four man front was working muuuuuuuuuuuuuuch better.
