Shula to the Dolphins?

According to the Miami Herald Shula has interviewed for the head coaching position, TWICE!

http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/16473100.htm

I read it and I still don't believe it.  Why in the world would he get a chance to be an NFL head coach when he can't even win at one of the top colleges in America?  I know it's all because of his name, but if I were the owner I would want a winner so my team would win, bring in more fans, and in turn, more money.

Shula could have a career...
...as a position (QB) coach somewhere, but he was fired by Tampa Bay from his OC position because his offenses were terrible, and he was fired here as HC because, well, his offenses were terrible.  Give the man any more responsibility than as a position coach, and he's in over his head.

Shula for Saban?
Nice trade I would say! This may be the best move Bama has made in a long time!

That'll just make this...
...whole bizarre coaching fiasco even more bizarro. It's like the Dolphins and the Tide are in some strange cosmic relationship.

ESPN.com has...
...this semi-frontpaged, believe it or not.

Stranger things have happened, I suppose. But not much stranger.

My guess...
...is that Dad called in a favor to get Mike an interview.  The Dolphins are not going to hire him, and the Shulas know that.  I would bet this is a ploy to raise his stock as an assistant coach/coordinator prospect ("well, the Dolphins did interview him for their head coaching position").
