Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Jimbo got away

FSU just issued a press release confirming that Jimbo Fisher will be the school's new offensive coordinator: http://seminoles.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/010807aab.html.

"Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden announced Monday that Jimbo Fisher has accepted the position of offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Florida State."

It'll be interesting . . .
to see what each team's record will be coming into that game.  Bama plays Arkansas and Georgia the two preceding weeks.  FSU hasn't totally finalized its schedule yet. They will definitely have to travel to Colorado on September 15th, and it is rumored that they will open the season at Clemson.

FSU also plays UAB at home.  What if FSU (improbably) lost to UAB but beat Bama.  That wouldn't be any fun.

I, for one, am dreading this game.  I have degrees from both schools and follow both schools closely.  It's a lose-lose proposition for me.  I may dress in all black.

That being said, I wouldn't miss it for the world.  Both schools have made good moves this year that should help them improve.  It should be a great game.

I agree. Hopefully, with our talent
we will be experienced with Saban by that time, and I think/hope any bad performance will come from our youth on Defense.

I think . . .
the very same thing could be said about FSU by replacing "Saban" with "Fisher" in your sentence. The weaknesses of both teams next year will be the defenses.  The over/under will probably be around 50.

For example, each team keeps almost everyone on offense except the starting RB.  Both lost experienced LBs, Juwan Simpson for Bama and Buster Davis and Lawrence Timmons for FSU.

Dressing in all black....
....didn't FSU bust out an all black uniform this year?

Curse this day job!
You've beaten us to the punch again, Lawboy!  I have no other choice than to run for Congress where I'll have nothing to do all day but focus on football!

Behind every good man . . .
there's a good woman.  In this case, my secretary who scooped us all.

In addition, I'm not trying to beat you to the punch as much as I'm trying to beat other blogs to the punch, to your benefit.  Thanks for giving me a place to be obsessed.

That's what we're here for.
And seriously, awesome secretary.

GOOD!! HE WAS A BOOG!!
Besides, he would have left us after next season to become a Head Coach somewhere.

We need a staff that will be together for a while, so this is probably going to be for the best

Was it for this my life I sought?
