I'm so disgusted right now...

...that even a bonus McPhee isn't enough to curb my anger.

That's not to say I won't try it, though.

First, my apologies for likely costing us the game by forgetting to do an embarassing admission. Second, what the hell Wilson? Are you kidding me? How can you play so poorly this late in the season? The offense's regression is beyond Shulaesque. At least with Shula we knew we were going to suck all year long, but this season we had least had a glimmer of hope that we would keep improving over the course of the year. This was just awful. Just flat awful. Fourteen points off of two idiotically bad decisions, and we lose to Mississippi State TWO YEARS IN A ROW? And that's not to say anything bad about State. Hey, I'm glad they're bowl eligible and all since I said they would be, so, you know, now I look like a genius and all, but I'd happily concede I had know idea what I was talking about when I made that prediction to not have Alabama be the sixth win to get them there. And when it comes down to it, to win football games you have to make the other team pay for their mistakes, and they did that. So hats off to them. They beat us fair and square, so congratulations, and best of luck the rest of the season.

As for Wilson? What do we do now? I thought he'd turned the corner there, but he looked downright miserable today. I'm not even going to bother looking up his numbers because, a) I know they suck, and b) I can't stand the idea of finding out how badly they suck right now. Sit this kid down! I've tried to be optimistic about him and say "if he's in there, it's because the staff has faith in him and he's our best option," but right now he simply can't be the best option we have. And that's not to say he doesn't deserve to ever play again. But at some point he needs to get the Brandon Cox treatment. Sit him down, put McElroy in, and let him know that he can't go out there and give games away and expect to be the starting QB for the Crimson Tide. Because that's what he did today, give this game away. Next weekend is a gimme with La.-Monroe coming to town (though after today's suck ass awful performance, can we really say anything is a gimme?), so will we see McElroy get a shot? I don't know. Right now, I sure as hell hope so, because we cannot rely on Wilson to win games anymore, we can just hope he doesn't give them away. This sucks.

Well, Saban said in the summer
that the cupboards are bare and we would have to be patient.

Now, after the UT game I cut the staff a little slack because our offense looked much improved, but this game stripped away any premonitions of being great we thought we may have been.  Sad fact is, like you said, we are a mediocre team, and Wilson is letting the fantastic talent we have at wideout go to waste.  Poor DJ...

I am sure Saban will take up for him, and blame everyone else, but fact is Wilson sucks, he isn't improving and we HAVE to make a change our Auburn will kill us.

If we can't beat MSU....
Can we realistically expect to beat Auburn?

How did this team hang with LSU last week and then just get completely outplayed by MSU???

JPW... take a seat.

how disappointing
How disappointing is this loss! Waste the season with a loss like this. This is regression to the FSU game. Everyone is to blame but especially the QB and coaching. Waiting to throw on 3rd down at the goal was not going to fool anyone. Alabama has not played any football in November since 2001 now we can't even beat MSU. Our only hope to salvage this season is to beat Auburn.

Bear 's legacy
Good game Bama. Thanks for the coaching, for the past 15+ years, Mississippi State has benefitted from good coaching from the Bears boys.

WTF
How many winning seasons had MSU had in the last 15 yrs.  Sure clown crazy Jackie had some good yrs before the meltdown, but that was attributed to Joe Lee Dunn.  As thru his entire career, Joe Lee would start strong and then get his drunk ass drug all over the field.  Croom is a great man, and I am glad he is at State, but he is far from a great coach.
I wouldn't piss off the boys from Alabama . . .
