My apologies to Mike Shula

After today's total worst loss in Alabama history I apologize to Mike Shula. I wanted Shula gone and I thought we would impove by 2-3 games. It is obvious that Saban has lost this team. We are no better than last years' team, in fact we maybe worse. We have about as much chance of beating Auburn as we would the Patriots. We are the laughing stock of the SEC. We are pathetic and if(when) we lose to Auburn I hope we are not invited to a bowl game. Miss.St deserves a bowl much more than we do. It is time to pack 2007 up and hope things get better in 2008.

P.S. This is not Shula's fault and his easy/lax training. This is Saban's team and it is pathetic. This team and the QB is lost and needs a good foot in the rear!

Give Saban Time
ok so we lost against a very sorry team today, but you have to look at all of the close games that we almost won. When we first started this season I bet you weren't thinking this at all. It is Saban's first year and he has to get all the players to think like he thinks. First of all JOHN-PARKER WILSON SUCKS BIG TIME!!! They call him the come-back kid but wat has he done in the past 3 games besides get sacked and throw interceptions? He makes some of the dumbest mistakes. The only real stupid thing Saban is doing so far is letting John-Parker Wilson play every game all game. I dont care if the rest of our wuarterbacks are freshmen. Saban needs to be the type of coach that if he sees some one doing a bad job, TAKE THEM OUT THE GAME!!! Parker Wilson basically lost the whole game last week wit a stupid interception he threw at the end of the 1st half and against LSU he fumbled the ball in the last minutes. Saban needs to get on them hard. Cuss em out fuss at them make em run do somethin. But if we beat Auburn which looks like its not going to happen, it will be a success for Saban and he would have done something that Shula couldnt do in his 4 years at Alabama, also next year if he beats LSU like he should then that would be another accomplishment that Shula couldnt do.

Don't blow this out of proportion.

1. This game wasn't lost because of JPW.

He had one bad throw the whole game, and it got picked off, but his other int was a good throw, to an open receiver. The receiver didn't catch it, and it got tipped in the air and the defense caught it.

If the receiver caught that ball then we are up 14-0.

2. The run game was severely limited.

Upchurch is injured, Terry Grant was limited in practice, and Jimmy Johns was good, save that last minute fumble. If we had a healthier run game, this wouldn't have even been close.

3. The team wasn't playing with intensity that Saban teams traditionally show.

Saban teams traditionally show a lot of determination, and this team looked a lot like Shula's team last year. Saban even said in the press conference that personality problems inherited from last year reared their ugly heads this week.

Cause bama's pluck and gritt has writ her name in crimson flame.

i guess but...
Ok true jpw did alright this game but explain the last game to me and the one before.I dont think he should have started this game. We are going to be alright next year. John Parker Wilson needs to just get in his zone early in th game and never come out. Next year he is not going to have DJ Hall to throw it to to get him out of tight situations. He is going to have to use better vision and judgement.

LSU...
...dropped a game to UAB in Saban's first year there and everything turned out okay for them. Yeah it sucks, but don't hit the panic button just yet. His mere presence on the sideline wasn't going to fix all of the problems this program has. We haven't fielded a decent team in many many years (and no, the 2005 team wasn't good) and it's going to take a while to field another good one.

lets get serious
I know all the excuses but this was ULM that beat us. The bottom line is this team played one great game all season (TN)and has hit the skids since then. This is not panic but reality, we are not very good AND we get worse every year during the later part of the season. This team has thrown in the towel and wasted the last two Saturdays of my life and I may not even watch the Aubie game.

Think about it...
This is Shula's team.  Getting Saban on board is the best thing that could happen to the Tide.  Have you been paying attention to our new recruits?

I had high hopes earlier this season just like everyone else, but don't kid yourself.  Everyone should know that having Saban on our sideline for the first time wasn't going to immediately fix our program.  I am comfortable with the thought that this team will be the worst Saban will ever coach at Alabama.  But lets not give up yet.  You have to believe in the Tide regardless.  We still have the talent to beat Auburn.  They just need to bring the intensity and heart for 4 quarters.

Give me a break.....
I can't even imagine apologizing to "daddy's boy" Mike Shula.  He recruited those defeatest attitudes and patsies.  Saban showed some integrity by honoring those scholarship offers as long as those guys didn't go shopping.  Looks like most of them should have gone shopping.  This year is probably the coolest and most laid back Saban has been with any team he has coached.  Why?  Because they couldn't handle "real" discipline.  Shula didn't and doesn't have a clue when it comes to that, in the weightroom or coaching on the field.  These guys on the team now are not the type players Saban would have ever recruited for the most part. Look at the scouting reports regarding just the players that have presently committed to the Tide.  They are already regarded as the best class in Bama history.  That doesn't guarantee phenomenal success, but it says a heck of a lot.  You can take Mikey on a picnic and apologize if you want to(you'll probably need to get daddy's permission), but don't send our regards.

Outcoached!!!!
Shula did MUCH better than Saban has.  I mean, come-on guys! ULM?? They are possibly the worst team in the nation, and Saban was outcoached, period!

Again
Lets stop making excues for this team and program. I am a BAMA fan always but this is pathetic and there is no excuse for it. The university ought to refund every person's ticket price for this game. This team has let down again and again this year and in past years. I do believe Saban will get this turned around but there is still no excuse (injuries, suspensions, etc.) for this. Even IF we beat Auburn it doesn't make up this performance and really the last two weeks.
