Thoughts and Prayers for Siran Stacy

Update [2007-11-21 12:52:5 by Todd]:
The story gets sadder and sadder:

Alabama State Highway Patrol investigators say alcohol was likely a factor in the accident, "in the case of Mr. Wayman," Sgt. Tracy Nelson said.

"We’ve got to still get toxicology reports and our investigators at the scene say it may be a factor," Nelson said. "But until we get all the facts we can’t say for sure that it was a factor."

Once again, we'll keep this at the top of the page, so scroll down for new posts. We also got this e-mail from touchdownalabama.com:

We'll keep this at the top of the page all day. If anyone comes across any more information, please let us know in the comments.

[editor's note, by Nico]
I know some people don't pay a lot of attention to the diaries section, but this certainly merits being put on the front page:

Incredibly sad news out of Dothan:

"A van driven by former University of Alabama football star Siran Stacy was struck by a pickup at an intersection and six people were killed, including Stacy's wife and four of his children, state troopers said Tuesday."

http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/shared-gen/ap/National/Stacy_Fatal_Wreck.html

Stacy himself is listed in stable condition in surgical intensive care.

Please keep he and his family in your prayers this week. We all have very fond memories of watching Stacy run, I'm sure.

Thinking the same thing.
I would imagine that someone will set something up in the coming days - information will likely pop up on the Dothan Eagle and/or Tuscaloosa News websites.

Immensley sad
wow.  The picture of his van is horrendous.  I can't believe anyone survived that.

Prayed for them
I clicked on the Fox News website as I returned from lunch and saw the picture of the van and it was terrible. The trooper said he had never seen anything like it in over 20 years of service. I stopped and prayed for Siran and his little 3 year old daughter. He and I are the same age and I could only imagine losing my wife and kids like that. I pray that he will recover and his daughter as well and that he will find the comfort of the Lord Jesus during this time. It is a reminder to us that it is appointed unto man once to die and after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). I hope every one who hears this story will examine themselves to see if they are in the faith. May God comfort Siran and his family at this time.

Kind of puts things in perspective.
I guess we all see what's really MOST important when you see something like this.  If you got a wife and kids, go hug them as soon as you can.  If you don't, go hug your family and tell them you love them.  You just never know...

God Bless Siran!!

Looks like there are conflicting
reports that his other daughter passed away last night at UAB.
