Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

First SEC Outing of 07

Ed Orgeron is out at Ole Miss following a winless SEC season. After a 3-9 season I'm sure even Ed expected to be let go.

Given the problems with the program (namely 20 players caught stealing radios from hotels) I can't see this drawing a big name coach. Anyone have any ideas on the next new coach at Ole Miss?

i dont know about.....
ol Ed, but let me just throw out a theory i came up with on the way home from the game last night (oh by the way, i just got home, i live in TN about an hour west of Nashville). here it is: In the SEC we know Ed is gone, but what about Houston Nutt? Im fairly certian even that win over LSU wont keep his job safe. Les Miles i believe with 99% will head north to his home of Michigan, why you ask....well Sabans players are gone, he lost to Arkansas, blew a nc TWICE, and he knows that he can never live up to Sabans shadow there. So who takes that LSU job? The Ol Ball Coach could be a very top prospect for that school simply because he wants out of Carolina. Unless LSU can fork up a 36 million buy out for Saban im pretty sure this will be the first year in a while we are not worrying about our coach. But something to chew on....how attractive is that LSU job to Saban, and how attracted is LSU to him? Im not saying he will, im just trying to get your minds thinking. And then there is Tuberville, what happens to him? After the AD and President run behind your back trying to fire you after a 13-0 season im pretty sure i would want out too and im sure he is thinking about that Texas AM job or even Nebraska. Im just thinking, next year in the west the only two schools that will have the same coach could very easily be Alabama and State. SO ROLL TIDE ROLL, we knew this season would be tough, but hey, we beat the stew out of tennessee!

Predictions
From what I've seen and read Nutt is all but done in Ark.

I'd be stunned if Saban went to another SEC team. I don't think his ego will allow him to until he has proven that he is a great coach to himself.

I don't see the OBC leaving South Carolina for the same reasons I don't see Saban leaving.

Tubs isn't going anywhere. Some will upset that he stays, I couldn't be happier. He's a decent coach and is a good fit for API.

I don't want Tubby to leave.
I want Saban to wipe that smirk off his face at next year's iron bowl. I don't want Tubby to leave this state a winner.

It may not be the classiest reasons for me to want him to stay, but there it is.

Cause bama's pluck and gritt has writ her name in crimson flame.
