thoughts on LSU game

Several thoughts on the teams and game.
1) LSU has the better talent and team and in the end they won the game. We could not handle their front 7 on defense or their offensive line.

2)Alabama is at a level of play that we have not seen this late in the season in several years.

3) Saban and the staff are helping this team to compete for 60 minutes- something that has been missing.

4)I expect the two teams to switch positions in the next two to three years.

5) Replay officals - the game was over officated from the replay booth. If the crew on the field misses that many calls (4 were over turned) they need to be fired. I am suspicious of this. LSU made many mistakes and kept the game close but I would say the replay officals bailed them out where they could. First, the fumble then the 41 yard catch. To over turn a call you need indisputable evidence- neither one of those plays were that clear. Why was this? I don't know but I have a suspicion that may sound sore loser-ish, but here it is. LSU is the last chance the SEC has for a BCS champion game and if they lose it is over. This is probably not right, but both those calls should not have been overturned because there was not enough evidence.

6)Bama was the better coached team.LSU is undisciplined and allows teams to stay with them.

7)BAMA is on the right track and I hope we can win out!

replays and JPW
The two overturned calls were huge. I think the fumble on Castille's hit could have honestly gone both ways, but to overturn Cadell's catch was crap. He clearly had his hands around and underneath the ball. Yes, the nose of the ball touched the ground, but it did not affect the catch attempt. He did not use the ground to "trap" the ball. That was a big play. Still, a lot of the blame has to be placed on JPW. He stared at the blitzing safety, held the ball too long and didn't protect the ball with two hands as he's about to get hit. He needs to A. get rid of the ball and B. protect it better. We punt it out of there and take our chances in OT. He frustrates me so much because of his inconsistency. He's brilliant for four plays and looks retarded the next four. I was disappointed that Upchurch didn't get any run. Lowe and Grant are smaller backs while Upchurch could have been that sledge hammer late like he did vs. Ark and UGA. Very sickening to lead for most of the game and lose the way we did but you can tell a huge difference form last year's team. With all of the recruits in attendance, you'd wish for a win, but they had to be impressed.

Did anyone else notice
that a lot of LSU players had to get medical attention before 3rd down plays?  I am not saying that this was on purpose, it was just really weird.

Tiger Fan Agrees
LSU is undisiplined, lots of pointless penalties.

...but no one likes to hear anyone else blame the officiating for a loss.

I dont think you even believe that thier was intended bias.

I think Bama has great years ahead.

in response to tiger fan agrees
I am not saying that the replay offical cost Alabama the game because LSU made plays when they had to and they had the better players. I am saying that the replay officals turned 4 calls around and two of them were very suspect and those two were HUGE plays in the game. (We cannot know what would have happened if those plays would have stood, the game might not have been any different.) The fact is they took plays that did not have indisputable evidence on video and quickly overturned the call on the field. This makes a person think. Remember it took over 5 mintues for the replay officals to overturn the pass reception call at the end of the Ole Miss game and they made these calls in a short period of time. I think it is suspect and their motive is unknown. LSU made plays when they had to but I do not see LSU winning the national championship unless they cut out the mistakes.
