Tide Fans Clearly Excited About the Future

I checked the al.com basketball page a few minutes ago, and came across an illuminating poll on what's important to Alabama fans right now:

And on that note, from the diaries:

According to Tider Insider...Chris Jackson is a new commitment to the Tide. He graduates from highschool friday and will be joining the Tide starting January. This is a great pick-up as not only is he a great player, but he will not count against our 08 class! According to stats I've seen, 76 catches for 1,470 yards and 19 touchdowns. He added another five touchdowns rushing. Could be another great duel threat reciever/runner.

Thanks to touncy28 for the heads up.

Update [2007-12-18 11:18:31 by Todd]:

Andrew Bone over at TideSports.com has a write up about Jackson's decision making process:

"It was a hard, real hard decision. A lot of things led me to my decision. Alabama has great tradition and a great offense. The coaching change at Georgia Tech played a big part as well."

"I came back from my official visit to Tech this weekend. Last night I sat down with my parents and discussed everything. We talked about everything and decided Alabama was the best place for me."

"When I was in a meeting with the Alabama coaches they talked to me about playing defense. Then coach Saban said he was recruiting me strictly for offense. They were losing three senior wide receivers, and they needed depth."

Unfortunately the basketball team does not look like it is anything to get excited about.  I hear the rallying cry is "wait till next year," again!

There was an interesting article on ajc.com.  It was a GT homer blog. It was blasting Saban for hiring Geoff Collins, because they are going after Tech recruits, now.  I guess people do not understand how recruiting works.

Maybe GT should have thought
about that before dumping Gailey.  Part of turnover.

That's hilarious
I know Saban wants to target the ATL more; hence wanting to play Clemson in the Dome next year. Hopefully we'll be playing in Atlanta every year at the end of the season :)

NIT! NIT!
That's about what we have to hope for basketball-wise.  The whole conference is down and we're down more than most.

Hopefully not at the very end, Nose Guard.  I'd rather not be playing in the Chicken Bowl, though it's certainly better than Shreveport.

SEC Championship Game
I am assuming that he is talking about playing in the SEC championship game every year.  I hope so anyways, though I would definitely take the Peach Bowl over Shrevport any day of the week.

Peach Bowl
Yea,,,,,,i would take the peach to,,,,,,i mean look at the cow college,,,,,,,,they r playin there.  if we had just won a few more games,,,,i mean if jpw hadnt thronw a few of then interceptions we would be playin g in a better game.  but saban is gonna bring us to the secc nex year and then the bcsc the next year.saban is gonna win us a national championship and then it will be 13.

Of course
the SEC Title game. I want the BCS Title game at the veryend. I wouldn't be a delusional Alabama fan with too high expectations otherwise!

SEC Championship Game vs. BCS Title Game
I propose that we just go ahead and rename the SEC championship game the BCS national championship game.  I think that should be the game to crown the MNC.  What does everyone else think?
