I hope LSU (and the rest of the SEC) gets creamed!
When watching other college football games (Bama not playing), certain factors determine who I pull for:
- 'I've always kind of liked that team.' Most Bama fans that I know like Penn State.
- 'I can't stand that team!'. Ex: I'm for whoever's playing Notre Dame.
- The underdog (Boise St v Oklahoma last year)
- Personal vendetta. "Ha! Take THAT, Fran!"
- The exception to all other factors: How will this affect Alabama?
Don't fall for conference dominance crap! The teams that are playing against the SEC are our allies. Clemson over AU (easy to do) Wisconsin over Fill Full-mer (likewise), Mizzou over Arky (what's up with them, anyway?). See how easy it is? Michigan over Fla (doesn't anyone else want to see someone put a Bennett-type hit on Tebow? OSU over LSU (does anyone REALLY want to see LSU win this game? WHY??)
Exceptions: I believe Kentucky beating FSU would actually be better for Bama recruiting-wise. Plus, it justifies me pulling for UK in this game! Also, unless my gut tells me otherwise during the game, it wouldn't hurt my feelings to see UGA stomp a mudhole in Hawaii, a southern thang, I guess.
If you want to pull for the SEC, go ahead, but if LSU wins don't cling to their SEC coattails!

Umm, while I respect your opinion
Not to flame or anything, but your post comes across like you are an Auburn fan trying to stir a pot or make us look bad. I am sure that is not the case, but just giving constructive criticism ;)
I know my opinion sounds bad
BTW, I'm definitely not an AU fan, I know my opinion isn't a popular one and I appreciate your opinion as well :) ROLL TIDE ROLL!

I somewhat agree.
However, I don't want the other SEC schools to get creamed. Rather, I prefer if the other conference schools have measured success (i.e., making a good bowl but losing close). I certainly don't want the SEC's reputaton to fall behing the other conferences. That will surely hurt recruiting. But it is not especially important that the SEC be seen as much better than the other conferences. A little better is probably optimum. That way, the on-field competition in the conference is not impossibly difficult, but is good enough to give the conference a recruiting advantage as a whole.
I wish I'd said that!
It's good to see that you understand the point I was trying to make, thanks for making it a little more palatable!
