The Police

I sent an email to friends to gauge interest in catching them in NOLA and got NO response.  Am I the only one who is beyond myself with excitement that these guys are touring?!
I just go some decent tix while most of their shows are sold out.

Star-divide

My question is, "Who's at least interested in this tour?"

I'm not huge...
...on reunion tours.

Most of the reunions I've heard have been rather bland.

The only exception I can think of was Orchestra Baobab. They took 17 years off and came roaring back with a vengeance

I suppose you could throw in the Buena Vista Social Club too, but considering 99% of the world didn't know their prior stuff, it doesn't really count as a comeback.

Speaking of New Orleans though...
...I think I'm going to try to see Damian Marley & Stephen Marley down there in May:

This isn't Boston or even Queen and Paul Rodgers.
This is the Police.
Sting-still kicking ass.
Copeland-kicked major ass with oysterhead.
Summers-uhhhh, I'm sure he's been kicking ass too.

If the Talking Heads all got back together and started touring again, you're telling me you wouldn't be excited b/c it was a reunion tour?

I have to admit that I'd be completely...
psyched to see Talking Heads back together. It'd be worth going to every show on the tour to say you were there when Byrne and Weymouth came to blows on stage.

It's very odd to me...
...that the relationship between the TH bandmates deteriorated to such an extent. I remember thinking it pretty lame when Byrne sued his former bandmates for calling themselves The Heads after his departure.

But Byrne did recently cover a Lambchop song, from what I hear. And that's kinda cool.

When he played at City Stages...
...a few years ago, he did an awesome cover of Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody"

I was at that show...
...I remember being so frustrated though because the PA sounded like garbage. Byrne was ripping it up though.

Oh yeah...
...and Copeland did rip it up with Oysterhead. I like the Police and all, I was just never a HUGE fan. Most of the bands I grew up on haven't been apart long enough to have reunions yet. :D

I never really got into the Police...
...but if the Talking Heads got back together I'd be all over that.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J.
