SEC Baseball Week(end) in Review

Friday, April 13th thru Sunday, April 15th

Western Division

22-15
(7-8)
4/13 Bama 1 vs UGA 4
4/14 Bama 7 vs UGA 6
4/15 Bama 5 vs UGA 3

The Tide bounced back from it's poor showing in Nashville, taking the weekend series with UGA two games to one. They'll take the field again Wednesday, hosting South Alabama, before heading to Auburn for a showdown with the Teagles.

29-10
(11-4)
4/14 Arkansas 14 vs Florida 3
4/14 Arkansas 7 vs Florida 1
4/15 Arkansas 10 vs Florida 7

Arkansas rebounded after a disappointing showing against Mississippi State last weekend, sweeping the visiting Gators. They'll hit the road this week, heading to Springfield for a date with Missouri State on Wednesday before visiting beautiful Athens, GA for the weekend.

25-14
(4-11)
4/13 Auburn 16 at South Carolina 1
4/14 Auburn 1 at South Carolina 10
4/15 Auburn 4 at South Carlina 18

Ouch. After a convincing win Friday night, the Teagles were thoroughly dominated by the 'Cocks the rest of the weekend. They'll try to rebound against Samford at the Hoover Met on Wednesday before welcoming our own beloved Tide to the Plains on Friday.

21-16-1
(6-8-1)
4/13 LSU 4 vs Ole Miss 3
4/14 LSU 8 vs Ole Miss 2
4/15 LSU 5 vs Ole Miss 16

LSU took their weekend series with the Rebels two games to one, despite a thumping Sunday afternoon. They'll travel to New Orleans for a date with UNO Wednesday before making the trip to beau...errr..Starkville for the weekend.

25-13
(8-7)
4/13 Ole Miss 3 at LSU 4
4/14 Ole Miss 2 at LSU 8
4/15 Ole Miss 16 at LSU 5

The Rebs thumped LSU on Sunday, but it wasn't enough to take the weekend series after they dropped the first two meetings. They'll take on State for the Governor's Cup on Tuesday in Pearl before welcoming the 'Cocks of South Carolina to Oxford.

23-8
(8-5)
4/13 State 4 at Tennessee 3

The Bulldogs took their Friday night game against the Vols (boo! hiss!) before the rest of the weekend was rained out. They'll take on Ole Miss for the Governor's Cup on Tuesday before welcoming LSU to Starkville for the weekend.

Eastern Division

20-19
(8-7)
4/14 Florida 3 at Arkansas 14
4/14 Florida 1 at Arkansas 7
4/15 Florida 7 at Arkansas 10

The baseball Gators are returning to form, getting swept by MSU over the weekend after dropping the previous two. They'll travel to Tallahassee to face the hated 'Noles before welcoming Kentucky to Gainesville.

13-23
(5-10)
4/13 UGA 4 at Bama 1
4/14 UGA 6 at Bama 7
4/15 UGA 3 at Bama 5

Again, it must stink to be an UGA baseball fan. They'll make the trip up the road to Atlanta to take on the Yellowjackets Wednesday before welcoming the Hogs of Arkansas to Athens for the weekend.

26-9-1
(6-8-1)
4/13 Kentucky 8 vs Vandy 10
4/15 Kentucky 8 vs Vandy 6
4/15 Kentucky 4 vs Vandy 9

The Cats fared as well as we did against Vandy, taking one but unable to muster that second win to take the series. At least we can claim "it was a road game" as an excuse. Kentucky faces Morehead State (so... difficult... to.. not... make... juvenile... joke...) in Lexington Wednesday before hitting the road for a date with a reeling Gators team.

28-8
(9-6)
4/13 South Carolina 1 at Auburn 16
4/14 South Carolina 10 at Auburn 1
4/15 South Carolina 18 at Auburn 4

After getting pounded by Auburn (so...difficult...) Friday night, the 'Cocks hit their stride with a pair of dominating performance to close out the weekend. They'll face Wofford and Clemson in Columbia during the week before heading to beautiful Oxford, MS for the weekend.

20-14
(6-7)
4/13 Tennessee 3 vs MSU 4

After dropping Friday night's contest with the Bulldogs of Mississippi State, the rest of the weekend was cancelled due to poor weather conditions. The Vols (boo! hiss!) will take on Furman and Lincoln Memorial (who?) in Knoxville before heading to Nasvhille for a date with the 'Dores on Friday.

32-6
(9-6)
4/13 Vandy 10 at Kentucky 8
4/15 Vandy 6 at Kentucky 8
4/15 Vandy 9 at Kentucky 4

The 'Dores took two of three from their hosts over the weekend, and look to put up a few more wins with a visit from Lipscomb and a trip to MTSU before continuing conference play over the weekend, hosting the Tennessee Volunteers (boo! hiss!) in Nashville.
