Jim Wells to step down
I know there aren't a lot of baseball fans out there that read this, but word is Jim Wells is on his way out. Word his he met with his assistant coaches and one of them leaked it to a friend. Wells was great for the program, but it has peaked under him.

State). Pierce just interviewed for the Tennessee job but didn't get it. They gave it to the coach from Western Carolina. It's hard to believe he's better than Pierce.

Thanks for the link
Obviously this year was a disappointment, but under Wells Bama has been up and down (with the exception of ca. 1996-99). I hate to see him go, but I agree that he was past his prime and we can take a step forward. Wells was a great coach, but with Pierce or Cohen we will be just fine.
The UT folks here in Knoxville are not very happy with the replacement of Delmonico. Of course their situation was different, since Delmonico was fired and Wells is leaving on his own to apparently spend time with his family.
