Ole Miss= Biggest Game of the Year
Hear me out. Our biggest game to date was UGA. But, AT THE TIME, we were not thinking of a NT or an undefeated season. We were hoping to get to the SEC championship. In that light a loss to UGA would not have changed much. We figured we would still need to beat LSU and so LSU was seen as our biggest game.
But now things are different. There is a good chance LSU will lose to either SC or UGA. After last Sat I'd say there is at least a 60/40 chance of this happening. Now, look at our schedule. I just can't see us losing to UT, MSU, or AU because none of these teams has an offense. Now that could change as their coaches are trying anything to kick start them. But you have to say our chances to beat all three looks preety good.
Considering that, a win Sat. should mean we finish the SEC 7-1 at the worst. That would be if we lost at LSU- the worst case senario. I just have to think 7-1 will get us to ATL even with a loss at LSU. Furthermore, 11-1 regular season should have us ranked about #4 or #5. We would be playing a UGA or UF team ranked #2 or #3. If we win that game say against a #2 ranked UF, we would jump to #2 and play for the NT.
However, lose to Ole Miss and, although we still control our destiny, that destiny runs through Baton Rogue. That is why I think this is the most important game of the year. And, Ole Miss is very capable of beating us as we all know form their win at UF. Based on their game with UF and LSU's game with UF you would have to think Ole Miss is the most likely team on our schedule to beat us. This game has "trap" written all over it even at home.

Absolutely agree
The difference between our season after a win is night and day compared to a loss. Ole Miss is now the most important game of the year, no question.

Yeah
thats pretty much the case from here on out. If we keep winning, then the stakes for each game get that much higher. One of the things that makes it difficult to win a title in this sport. There is no make up game, there is no series, there is no “we lost today, we’ll play better and get ’em tomorrow” nope, not in football. You lose thats it. At least as far as national titles are concerned.

Ole Miss is good
Jevan Snead is the best QB we’ll face the rest of the year. They have talent everywhere on offense, and a very good offensive line. If Greg Hardy has his head in the game, he can wreak absolute havoc, like he did last year.
Now, if its the Ole Miss that loses at home to Vandy (and Vandy is bad, just well coached), we’re allright. But if its the Ole Miss that beat Florida, they’re certainly capable of beating us. Particularly if we make the mistakes we made in the Kentucky game.
If there was a week for OTS to bring back the preview, this would be the one.

Before the season...
I picked this game as one that scares me the most. They played us close last year and almost pulled it out if the reciever had not gone out of bounds. Ole Miss has a good coach and a good team, we better be prepared or it will be a long day.

Totally agree
This game is important bc 1) it is the next game and 2) Ole Miss is actually pretty damn good and just a few pts away from a great season.
Nutt can coach and Orgeron left the cupboards full of talent. I dont know how, but Orgeron was one hell of a recruiter. Now they have a coach that can get that talent to translate.
I will be at BDS on Sat and I will be very scared.

Don't be scared...
…but you are right on with each of the points you make. Ole Miss may not be a better team than UGA, but they are a more physical team, with future NFL talent on both sides of the line. And I believe that the Nutty one is a better coach than Ric(ht)o Suave, much less Coach O and his O-face.
Ole Miss has played us close for years now, but one encouraging thing about last year’s game is that it was similar to this year’s UF-Ole Miss game. We clearly outplayed them, but made several costly mistakes (turnovers, etc.). We’ve had two disappointing games this year, one in which our O-line was decimated by injuries (Tulane), and one in which we tried to screw up every way we could (Kentucky) and the officiating was horrible. Since Ole Miss is clearly better than either of those teams, we can’t have those same issues and expect to win like we should, but — barring that — we should win.

The one thing
for sure is I will be there too and we need to make it one loud and hostile env for them to play. I love going to games but it seems that there are long stretches in the games where we sit on our hands and dont make alot of noise. I was there when we played Oklahoma and should have won and that place was rockin. We need that his weekend. So put the word out. Make BDS a place teams dont want to go into to play.

I pledge to lose my voice on Saturday
Of course I will only yell when UM has the ball. I remember hearing a comment by Coach Bryant that he hated when our fans made any noise when we had the ball.

Bama fans...
…seem to know this, but have you ever watched an Auburn game? I’ve heard their fans screaming louder when their own team has the ball. No wonder the offense has struggled this year.

…and yelling my lungs out. Coach Saban said in his post KY presser that the noise we made had definitely affected the way the Cats executed. He even went so far as to say he thought that game was the one the fans helped the most since he has been here. He never forgets to thank the fans and I really like that. I admit it...
I LOVE that song and listened to it while I was posting. Ya’ll have not seen me participate in the weekly embarrassing admissions thread YET. Guys girly admissions are usually more entertaining, but I’ll try to think of something at least by the Barn game, if not sooner. If I go back to my DJ years, it’ll be easy enough.

I followed...
in my father’s footsteps and was a Communications major with emphasis on radio. He went into sales after being on air and I went into clubs, parties, weddings because they paid more. Those were some drinkin’ years with a few embarrassing moments I semi remember. I actually started out in sports and news reporting and I’ve thought about getting back into voice overs even now.

No, not me...
Man, I was scared you found a tape from when I worked in Tuscaloosa. I listen to those and wonder how I ever got a job, my accent was so bad to me. I lost most of the accent when I came back to Virginia, except when I’m drunk and then it comes back in a flash. You get a talent fee for spots and it can range from $50-200 per hour, usually a 3 hour minimum.

I do mixtapes...
I haven’t in awhile because as Todd says “live rudely interrupts” as it has been doing for the last 15 months…
I’ve wanted to do an Alabama themed mixtape and sample all the songs I’ve ever heard that mention Alabama with an emphasis on songs that actually are about Bama…it’s a work in progress…amongst many other things…
anywho, enough rambling…what was your name?

The Bama mixtape...
…is a cool idea. I’d love a copy if you ever finish it. I used a few different names. I did a lot of bars and used Vicki when I was known as the Rock ‘n Roll queen(Classic, Southern, Hard). If you’re familiar with Beach Music, it’s big in Virginia, and I did a lot of that with oldies(mostly Motown). I was most famous in Virginia when I did country radio and was music director for awhile and my name was Rosalie. No last name. Met a lot of stars. I’ve done all kinds of music, but never got deep into hip hop, probably because I didn’t like that so much of it is about violence, profanity and abuse of women. One time you had something up to go to – I don’t remember if it was a website or facebook or myspace, but I went to it and whatever song was playing was pretty bad. Cussing is one thing and I do it, but true profanity is something else.

wow...true profanity...
I agree though…hip-hop is misgynistic (sp?), violent and pretty hardcore…but for those same reasons, I love it…and not all of is like that…actually, most of it isn’t…but unfortunately that’s all you hear on the radio…
my record collection is odd, though…a lot of classic rock and r&b (lots of motown) and lots of ‘70s soul…that’s the good stuff…and yes, it’s all on vinyl…nothing like that warm sound…
btw, I’d love to go through your collection…I’m sure you’ve got some gems…

Yep...
…mine is all on vinyl too. The bad thing about that is a lot of it is waaaay cue burned. Had to tape up a lot of my record jackets, so not much is in mint condition. I probably do have some collector’s stuff because I got so much from the radio stations(loved it when something was sent on colored vinyl). I’m actually going to get someone knowledgeable to come look at everything(it’s in storage) because I’m going to sell most of it.
