As if things weren't already bad enough for Auburn, starting middle linebacker Tray Blackmon will miss the remainder of the year as a result of his decision to undergo wrist surgery.
Sufficed to say, it's a very bad thing for Auburn. Blackmon has always had outstanding potential, but has been limited throughout his career with injuries and other issues. When he had been able to play this season, he had generally played well, and his absence won't help anything.
The problem with Auburn right now is that as terrible as the offense is, the defense must be very good for the overall team just to keep from going under. Obviously, the latter becomes only harder and harder without the presence of one of the defense's key players.
