The early word is Terrence Cody suffered a bad medial collateral ligament injury to his knee. MCL injuries are a stretch, partial tear or complete tear of the ligament on the outside of the knee.
From al.com. This is bad.

They posted a slightly better update:
Some very good news for Alabama from Coach Nick Saban …
The preliminary evaluation of nose tackle Terrence Cody’s right knee was positive and Saban thinks Cody will not need surgery.
“I would assume that he’ll be out a couple of weeks,” Saban said.
Cody will have a MRI to farther evaluate the damage, but Saban compared his injury to the MCL sprain suffered earlier this season by left tackle Andre Smith, who missed the Tulane game as a result.
Assuming this early words holds, that’s a huge sigh of relief for Alabama … after an even larger sigh of relief in winning another tight home game.
You were quicker on the draw...
…I just did a new fanshot with that. I’ve been sitting here refreshing al.com and tidesports.com over and over to see if they update anything.
MCL
I don’t know who wrote that but the MCL is on the inside of the knee… medial=middle. You can also tell from the replay that the inside of his knee was “over-stretched”
