Alabama holds firms at #2 in the AP and USA Today polls. If we don't bother to show up in the second half for the next few weeks, though, this won't be an issue...

No. 2 in the BCS as well
The top five BCS standings have Texas No. 1, followed by Bama, Penn State, OU, and USC.

I wish we
didn’t even have this BCS stuff to contend with. The more hype we get the more we lose focus. Texas seems to be able to focus fine, but these last 2 games have reminded me more of last year than Clemson and UGA. As bad as UT has been I’m afraid of this game. At least it is on the road where we seem to play better
The difference...
…is depth and experience. Texas has an O comparable to the best of the Big 12 with a better D. Alabama has a D comparable to the best of the SEC with a better O (with UF a possible exception). Due to each team’s recent histories, we have less quality depth, a younger team, and a coaching staff that has been together for a shorter time at the school. That doesn’t mean it won’t happen. It just means there are greater challenges.
And UT will certainly be one of those challenges. Still, emotion seems to affect the outcome of this game less than the Auburn game, so hopefully the better team will win, and that’s us.
