Where Do You Stay?

Star-divide

We all post and read each other's posts almost on a daily basis. I think it would be cool for all of us to say (or admit) where we are all from and living now. I doubt anyone lives near me, but maybe a few of y'all live in the same area and never even knew it.

I'm originally from Huntsville, but now I go to school in Maryland. I can't wait to come back to the heart of dixie to settle down.

Roll Tide! Beat UT!

The great city of Birmingham, Al

Which is a damn fine place to live; all the murders and shit happen on Northside, so stay away.

I was born in Bessemer, moved to Hoover after high school and went to Tuscaloosa for a year before transferring to UAB and finishing at Faulkner. Moved to Irondale, back to Hoover, Huntsville, and now back in Homewood. We are looking at buying a house in Pelham area, or Trussville, but looks like I will be in Birmingham for a while.

Always wanted to live in Denver though. I dunno.

Denver is

my most favorite Big City. I lived in breckenridge/Summit county for a couple of seasons and really enjoyed visiting Denver. Now I live in the Mighty Metropolis of Enterprise, AL. They only good thing about Enterprise is it is a straight 75miles shot to the beach.

Auburn fans are like slinkys... not really good for anything but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Father too. Grandfather born in Anniston. Except for the 4 years I lived in T-Town, I’ve lived in Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Va my entire life because my mother’s family was there. My mother is the brain in the family with 3 degrees from Bama and had interaction with both Bear and Joe Namath since she was in the Physical Education Dept.

I’m living on the road right now going to Tide games. In Savannah today. Will be moving probably to near Tampa after football season.

born and grew up in Mobile

Most Mobilians never leave, but I bravely moved all the way across the Bay to Daphne (a tiny town on Mobile Bay, just north of Fairhope). Was happily held prisoner for 3 years, while getting law degree, in Tuscaloosa and was there for the glory years of ’77, ’78 & ’79. Lived 2 blocks from stadium. My roommate was engaged to a Bama player, so got to know many of them, who were very nice guys. The Bear kept them humble, even during those glory days.

born and bred in Birmingham

moved to Baldwin County about 6 years ago. Pretty decent amount of lsu fans here compared to rest of state. I’m noticing a LOT less au flags on cars, and laugh at those that do- trying to ‘keep the faith’.

Actually dated a girl

That went to McT, and graduated from South myself. Hopefully, although I will bleed Crimson my whole life, we will get some decent football going down here in the next few years.

is well thought of and he’s put together an interesting staff so far. I really hope it turns out successful for South, otherwise they may be looking at being an ex-member of the Sunbelt Conference.

I

split most of my school years between Tarrant and Locust Fork both around Birmingham. Locust Fork is alittle futher from B/Ham though. I joined the air force about 2yrs after graduation and have been currently residing in Omaha Nebraska ya that right all I hear out here is how the big 12 is the best conference in college football and how we are over rated and the sec is too. So here is hoping we get to play a big 12 team for the NC and destroy them soon.

Born in Houston

Moved to Montgomery in the middle of 6th grade. Currently in Tuscaloosa about to finish my undergraduate degree. Next three years will be law school in either Atlanta, Durham NC, Nashville, Tuscaloosa, or Athens GA. After that, who knows?

by Bama philosophe on Oct 21, 2008 6:04 PM CDT reply actions

Well travelled!

I lived in Houston for a few years in ‘96-’99. I was born and raised in Huntsville, AL. You have to add the “Alabama” after “Huntsville” when you’re in Texas, or they ask you when you got out (of prison).

Left Huntsville to get some schoolin’ in Tuscaloosa, then lived in Auburn (first job reporting for O-A News), then Gadsden, then back to Huntsville, then Houston, now in Atlanta. Oh! … and I interned in Monroeville (home of Harper Lee and setting for To Kill a Mockingbird).

Born in Florence, AL...

Raised in Rogersville/Shoals area, moved to Augusta GA in high school and have lived in Gainesville, GA (about 1hr. northeast of Atlanta) for the past 16 years. There are actually quite a few Bama fans in the area, as Bammer can attest— Matt Wethington, who was a kicker for the Tide in 1991/92, is pastor of one of the Baptist churches here in town.
