PrintAs you're all aware, we go to Knoxville to take on the hideous, orange clad embodiment of all that is evil Tennessee Volunteers. There are only so many different ways to make fun of UT (hillbillies, Fulmer is fat, Chavis looks like a sex offender, etc.), and they've all been done. So this week and after the game if (snicker) we win, instead of resorting to the old standards (which I'm sure we'll do anyway) we'll be taunting Vols with the phrase "gobble gobble mfers." All the cool kids are doing it (by which I mean me), and it will make you look older. So let it be written...

Best Opportunity
This is the best opportunity to take back this series. We have only beaten Tennessee once in Knoxville since Stallings left Alabama. This game is huge, not only for this season, but for the future of both programs.
With a win, Alabama all of a sudden would have won 3 of the last 4 games in this series. Saban would be 4-1 against Fulmer. Out of the next three games this is the one game I do not want to lose.
This game is the only game that can give Tennessee fans any sort of contentment with their season. That cannot happpen! We have to win this game, and change the course of this series.

…was during Stallings’ tenure. The game he is referring to is the 2002 beatdown during Fran’s second season. It was beautiful.

Big game
Tennessee saves their season, and maybe Fulmer’s job, with a win.
Bama, meanwhile, has a chance to vault above Tennessee, clearly and without equivocation, for the first time in years.
Suffer the loss, though, and it will be extremely painful and embarassing.
This will be a fun game to watch as a neutral observer who loves schadenfreude. Someone’s gonna be taunted mercilessly after this game is over.

Given our showing so far, ANYBODY can beat us in the second half.
And the Vols are getting better with the new guy under center. Beware. This might not be so much fun.
