Sad

Worst call of the game. Too bad some officials are too weak willed to ignore sideline complaints.

Well

Saban did the same thing when Javy got called on unsportsmanlike conduct. That should not have been offsetting penalties. BUT yes that was the worst call of the day!

Definitely ...

… a bad call. No argument there. Just wrong.

there were some really abysmal calls in this game but we played badly enough to warrant our fair share of them. you can’t control what a zebra may or may not do – but you can control mental mistakes that limit their ability to pull out the flags. we really were lacking in that department yesterday.

im not one

to bitch and moan if we lose because of bad officiating BUT they(zebras) did kill some GREAT momentum plays for us…and yes, we deserved some of those holding calls..UK had a good D…i pray they did anyway. But through all the adversity we faced that game, the Tide still came out on top..and not that if and buts really matter now, but a regressant Tiffin and two fumbels are the only reason the score wasnt 35 to 14 or 41 to 21/24 because of juilo’s brought back catches….But we still pulled out the W this week and now the tide can take everything in, get a lil rest, and CNS will have them ready for Ole Miss. Roll Tide!

what they have allowed in the past. They are stingy to say the least.

I

agree the penalties killed us today, along with the missed field goals. What a weird game this was, we didn’t play bad but we played way below what we’re capable of. I guess thats a still a good sign.

The holding....

The holding penalties, I felt, were entirely justified. The UK defensive line had given our guys some problems, and to me the holding penalties that were called were pretty clear examples of legitimate penalties. I wouldn’t complain over any of them, they were justified.

However, the offensive pass interference on Julio, and the illegal formation penalty, were both entirely bogus, IMO. It was the result of some whistle-happy referees more than any actual and legitimate infractions.

How it looked to me...

I was sitting in the student section on the sideline where the offensive pass interference play occurred, and it looked to me like Julio did push off before the ball got there. It wasn’t a shove or anything crazy, but I think he definitely pushed off and it gave him an advantage in catching the ball, so it should’ve been called. My problem is that the line judge right in front of the play didn’t call anything, and then the side judge came running in from 20 yards downfield and threw a flag after listening to 5 seconds of the UK coaches’ bitching. I worked as an intramural official and one of the cardinal rules of officiating is that you don’t officiate out of your zone of responsibility because it undermines the other officials and makes your whole crew look like you don’t know what you’re doing. That side judge shouldn’t have made that call, even if he thought it was interference, because it was the line judge’s call in the first place.

They showed the replay several times...

….and it looked like what happens on every passing play in football. If they were going to be that picky on Julio, they could have just as well called interference on the Kentucky DB. It was an atrocious call, made all the worse by the other judge coming in late with the flag. The illegal formation was a BS call, too, but other than that we deserved the penalties we got. Still, I was furious when they called back Julio’s catch. Awful, awful call.

The other complaint...

The other problem with that call is that the flag was thrown by the referee who was not in position to see the penalty. The referee behind Julio was the one who threw the flag, and even if Julio had pushed off, that referee wouldn’t have been able to properly see it because his view of the action was blocked by Julio himself.

It wasn’t just that the flag shouldn’t have been thrown, it was that the flag shouldn’t have been thrown by the referee who threw it.

LIES!!!

i am almost completely sure that the refs are satanist ! and the actual call was offensive pass interference, i promise to all that is good and holy that that was NOT a good call! i mean i was so mad i threw my remote at the tv and started speaking in morse code!!!

Penalties (just or no). Fumbles. Poor QB play. Missed FGs. Lousy late TD.

And we won. I just wish we were that much better than the next seven or eight teams we play.

SEC Refs...

are for the most part garbage. Week after week they make horrible calls…on alot of different teams. This game Saturday was an example of how TERRIBLE calls can stop a drive or kill momentum. I am not blaming the poor play on refs (Bama did plenty to shoot themselves in the foot) but their is no excuse for some of those calls in any NCAA game.
BTW…Tiffin SUX…I dread the day (which is coming) that the game is on the line with 10 seconds to go in the 4th and Tiffin is lining up on the 23 yard line to kick a game winner. Lord Help Us Then!
