Veterans Day Thanks
Thank you to all the Veterans that have served and continue to serve this country.

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

Thank you again and God Bless for all the our service men and women do. Here's to a safe return of the ones that are currently protecting our freedom.

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.
Solemn the drums thrill: Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres.
There is a music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.
They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncountered:
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables at home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England’s foam.
But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
As the stars are known to the Night;
As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end they remain.
— Laurence Binyon
I am wearing one of my grandfather’s WWII Dogtags today; the fact I never knew him makes it haunting as well as prideful. But I wear it for both of them and the millions of our father’s and grandfather’s who fought for what we have today, so that we would not be under tyranny or oppression. Our generation knows nothing of sacrifice (other than those who served in Iraq or Afghanistan). It truly was the greatest generation.
"With a female-IHOP, With the guys-Waffle House. With a female your pulling Wingman on-Taco Bell" ~ Comer4tide, on his favorite place to eat at 3 AM
IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
- Lt. John McCrae

…and now Caddy are the ones I know of who are here to personally thank. I’m sure there are many more that I don’t know by name, but thank you to them and even to the ones who root for teams other than BAMA.
Speaking of SDBama78, we haven’t heard from you in a while. Hope you’re doing ok. Post sometime soon if you can.

It is a privilege and an honor to serve this Great Nation. Having spent a year in Iraq, and now home, it is great to be here, but we also must never forget that not only the soldiers are sacrificing, but our families do also! While deployed, I saw what a wonderful and strong woman i married that took care of the household and our 3 kids!!! I thank her and always remember that our families SERVE ALSO! Veterans day is as much for them as it is for us…. Thanks to all those serving, both in uniform and at the house!!!!

You guys and gals make my day just a little better while over here…keep up the good news. Just a little story for ya…I was riding down the road in Iraq while the LSU game was ongoing. We have messenger capabilities between our trks, so I was chatting w/ one of the LSU guys w/ us. We both were trying to find out what was goin on, so we sent out what we call a group message, and thankfully Sheriff 17 was kind enough to let us know that it went to overtime and the eventual outcome. It was great!! but nothing like getting to watch it!! Thanks again! RTR! #1

Great story, too! I watched the over-time interception through my fingers, so I have to say my view was a little distorted!
