Why is there little hype for MSU game?
I must say that I am somewhat concerned over the lack of hype among fans as to the upcoming game with Miss. St. Though I'm feel that our team does not lack the focus,ie: JPW's comments after the LSU game not wanting to talk about the SEC champship game yet. But it seems that there is very little talk about the game from fans. I work in sales where people are coming in and out and calling in all day long and most fans are glossing over the MSU game. Talk of the beating the barners and why won't the talking heads on ESPN give us a chance of beating the gators? First things First!!!!
Fact is we haven't scored an offensive touchdown since 2004 and have been embarrassed by the bulldogs for the last 2 years. This is not a game we as fans can overlook and if I could be there at the game to do my part, but work and family won't allow. I hope that there is plenty of noise and that the fans don't come in sitting on there hands and waiting for a blow out.
Let us all learn from our coach and stay focused on the task at hand. Without beating MSU this weekend there is no hope for a NC. I am ready for us to be the living daylights out the loud mouth barners this year as much as the next fan, but lets take of the beating the pesky little dogs first. ROLL TIDE!!!!!

Because...
… even if you don’t score an offensive touchdown in this game you will still win. Mississippi State got beat soundly by Tennessee this year. They are wretched. Their offense is an embarassment to the forward pass. You guys have nothing to worry about this week.

I think the post about hating auburn
has taken all the thunder away. Plus, my dream of opening a radio station was shattered about, oh 30 mins ago. So im not much in the mood to think about the crooms….
When you are an Alabama fan you have to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because i want to.

Why is there no hype for MSU?
1.)They are in a horrible spot on the schedule, i.e. anyone before the Iron Bowl would be “glossed over” a little.
2.)It is usually a defensive game=boring to most.
3.)We have lost the last two and Croom has pulled the upset more than that, so it isn’t a cupcake.
4.)It is Croom, so it isn’t like any of us want to CRUSH him to begin with.
5.)It is a night game so drinkers know they have to “pace themselves” if they want to know the final score.
6.) We want to get it over with because it is yet another streak we have to break in November and we are a bit apprehensive about it.

This game
is not in the bag. They have had a week off and we have proved we can let down after a big win- see Tulane & UK. We also have to carry the #1 thing around our neck.
We need to get out early and we will need to pass it some to win. If we can protect JPW we should be able to have our way with them…but this is a SEC game. MSU will hit you.

That's...
…what I’m talkin’ about. A little healthy respect for our next opponent. Thank you, boys. Now I can sleep.

Tables turned
Remember when THIS game would’ve been the Raycom Sports early game, and the Georgia/Auburn game would have been the primtime game? My, how the tables have turned, eh?

We're fans, not players
I understand your point, but since we’re not actually on the team, we can talk about things other than this week’s opponent. No disrespect to you intended.

"we have no influence on the players"
Yeah, that’s what my sister said when I looked down at my feet and freaked that I had not changed into my lucky red and white tennis shoes last weekend. She said “John Parker does not know you don’t have you lucky tennis shoes on”. We pulled it out in spite of my lapse, but I’m not taking any chances this weekend. I will be there yelling in my red and white tennis shoes and I am VERY loud.

i hadn't shaved for about a week when we smashed clemson and was wearing my "authentic practice jersey"
so, thats been the routine since august 31 for me. my face fuckin itches when the shit gets this long, plus i’m blonde so my facial hair is kinda sad, and i just look like a dirt-bag or cho-mo or possibly both. but i rock the jersey and the semi-beard, and we kick ass, so it works for me.

We are fans, you're right, but....
I think yall are to young to remember that many times that BDS would be virtually dead in games like this and we had no real home field advantage. The crowd sat on their hands and did not get into it until THE TEAM had there backs against the wall. (THE TEAM is for all of you who think that I am to much of an idiot to know the difference between players and fans)
My whole point is that WE as fan need to NOT overlook anybody. Call it being safe, or whatever, but being cocky about any SEC opponent is dangerous. No disrepect taken. I’m just a TRUE BAMA FAN, who has seen us in the great times and the struggles, I take NO TEAM for granted. ROLL TIDE
Well, are you gonna pull them pistols, or whistle dixie?

What I don’t understand is how MSU scored 24 on LSU. How’s a poor-performing offense like that manage to post 24 pts on LSU?
by jetjaguar15 on Nov 14, 2008 6:51 AM CST reply actions 0 recs
That game should never been close
LSU out gained them in total yards 427-285. LSU committed 2 TO’s, MSU had none and MSU put up 14 points late in the 4th quarter to make the game sound closer than it really was. Im not saying that MSU doesn’t scare me a little but if we play our best, this game won’t even be close.

i think this is a very valid point...
…if we don’t watch out we might be due a crooming. in a lot of ways i’m more nervous about this game than i was about lsu.
