Yes...

…and if you click on the HOME tab, you find that the cancellation is due to “low responses” and they will receive a “full refund.”

Okay, in the past SIX YEARS, have any of you EVAH quit partying???!!! Talk about fair-weather!

In Bama's

worst day I do not think we would ever just give up.

The home page...

Message was hilarious. You’d think they’d wanna get together for a coping session since they’re gonna be getting bent over like Shug Jordan did when facing Bear Bryant and Alabama.

Every year...

…of the last 6, I believed BAMA would win. I ALWAYS think we will until we don’t and I think most us think the same. It’s one of the big differences between Pride and the have none called Auburn. We have always known that the Barn’s fans are pathetic and this just proves it.

Bad economy + bad team + Iron Bowl on Thanksgiving weekend = Canceled

I’m not trying to say that the fact our team has been disappointing/terrible this season has nothing to do with it, but there may also be other factors. Since the game was moved to Thanksgiving weekend, I imagine that changes things alot. For instance, I would imagine this club is for people who moved to Huntsville for a job and don’t know alot of people; these people would probably be traveling somewhere else for the holidays, so maybe that’s why the numbers are down. It appears this thing cost money, and maybe some people just don’t have that in their budget (I can’t imagine it’s TOO expensive, but just throwing it out there as a theory) in this shit economy. Add on top of that I’m not sure we’d finish higher than 3rd in the SWAC…sounds like the perfect storm for it not happening to me…

If the roles were reversed and Alabama was struggling to get bowl eligible while Auburn was at the top of the BCS, I bet the “beat bama” party would fill up three weeks in advance… economy and Thanksgiving notwithstanding… I’m sure everyone had excuses other than “I’m really worried we’re going to get stomped, and I’d rather not watch”, but when it comes right down to it…

The Iron Bowl was played on this weekend last year.

Nov.24, 2007 Iron Bowl and Thankgiving Day was Nov. 22, 2007
It is traditionally played around Thanksgiving, and has even been played ON Thanksgiving Day (we deep fried a turkey in the parking lot, mmmmmm). I don’t think the timing is a factor since there are pictures of them on the site from last year on the weekend after Thanksgiving.

The economy, however, could be???

Please...

…make all the excuses you want, but there’s only one reason: AUSUX. Happy Thanksgiving.

We do suck

I’m not trying to say otherwise. This has been a terrible season for sure. But there are certainly other factors at work here.

The one at AUM is gone too...

Auburn’s montgomery annex always holds an Iron Bowl party in the Taylor Center, sponsored by AU alumni in Montgomery. It’s cancelled this year too. Talk about fairweather…

and FYI, 70% or so of AUM students are Bama fans according to a poll last year in our crappy campus newspaper

"The nice thing about supporting a bedraggled-cum-decent team? Watching all those analysts eat their words."

That poll...

…tells me that there’s still hope for our education system after all.

Little known fact:

AUM was originally going to be UAM, but Alabama saw UAH, UAB and said “AU can have it.” We’re Auburn in name only. Our academics are definitely not AU oriented.

UAH's and UAB's academics aren't UAT oriented either

I never knew that about AUM though.

UA abandoned the idea when AU snuck in a higher bid in the late 60’s. The University was set up to cater to working Business students. Then it got the Nursing program and everything’s followed since. AU is pushing us to be more like them though but our new Chancellor is pushing back since AUM’s been named in the top 20 Princeton College Review list.
