Chris Bonds Commits

According to reports by ESPN, Scout.com, and PalmettoSports.com, Chris Bonds has committed to Alabama.

Bonds is a 6'4 and 280 pound defensive end prospect out of South Carolina. He is listed as a four-star with both major recruiting services, and he chose the Tide over offers from the likes of USC, Notre Dame, Tennessee, South Carolina, and others.

Bonds has a sister at Tennessee, and many thought that he would eventually be a Volunteer, but they dropped out of the running after he watched us (on a visit to Knoxville) hammer the Vols in late October and the resignation of Phil Fulmer.

Moreover, Bonds said he will not take any other official visits, and with a 3.2 core GPA, he will have no problems qualifying academically.

was that a haiku?

When you are an Alabama fan you have to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because i want to.

gaining recruits

Just tryin to get a better perspective on recruiting from people that seem to kno a lot more about it than me. If a program is in a down year, such as lsu, wouldn’t it mean more to a 18 year old to hear them say"you could probably see a lot of playing time next year if you commit to us" ? Maybe thats why lsu is ahead of us in 2009 class even tho our program has better coaching and history.

That's almost a filter for talent...

Obviously we don’t want to be Miami of “da U” fame where everyone thinks he is the focus of the team; but it takes a certain degree of arrogance to look at a great program and say “I can play there”. We want the arrogant self assured guys. If a guy looks at a team and says, “they are too good for me to make an impact,” then we don’t need that guy. Talent gravitates toward talent. We’ll be o.k.

If it were up to me, I'd blitz on offense too.

defensive guys

would have to be idiots to not want to play for CNS. We have a great run game, which would make a great QB look good,so why wouldn’t a bradford or harrell want to come to the tide(may have that in Mccarron {sp?} )unless it’s the defences in the SEC that keep these qb’s from shining like they would in the big12.
