The Official Un-official Score Prediction Thread
I have been waiting on this day for six long years. I will attempt to be level headed in my predicition but will no doubt be labeled insane by those in orange and blue.
I see a healthy defense with 2 weeks to prepare being a Crimson colored nightmare for Burns and a struggling offense. I don't buy the whole 'what an improvement' at Georgia spill; The Dawgs looked about as disinterested on the field as I have seen them all year and still managed to win.
I see a senior quarterback and three solid running backs taking turns off left tackle having career days. When they are tired of chasing Coffee, Ingram will hit them in the mouth before Upchurch comes in to breeze by them. When they load up in the box Julio will spend the afternoon catching passes and dragging defenders into the end zone.
I also am filled with joy that anyone would think Alabama is in any way, shape, form, or fashion overlooking this game. I believe they have had it circled all season. They want blood and I believe will not stop short of absolutely humiliating Auburn given the chance.
Alabama 49-Auburn 3. And that's if we are generous.
Fire away, ladies and gentlemen. Laugh if you want, but I have been pretty close this year on my score to score picks. Let's see what you think.

Come on guys, lets get real.
Auburn is going to play thier best football of the year on Saturday. I know the offense is horrible, but the defense is very good when healthy. I know it seems like a long time, but remember 2001(the last time we won by the way) when we went to Auburn with a 4-5 record. AU was ranked 18th at the time, and they were pretty heavy favorites. We MURDERED them 31-7. Now I’m not saying thats going to happen, but with their record 6 win streak on the line, they will play well. With that being said our defense will shut them dwon completely. I think they will have one offensive TD and one special teams TD. We will run the ball a lot, which means our score won’t be as high due to the running clock. I think AU will give us a little bit of resistance but the final score will read:
ALABAMA 27 Auburn 17
KAREEM JACKSON!!!! THATS MY BOY!!!!
Bama 31, Auburn 14
And that’s with a late Auburn TD in the mix. Our defense should abosultely stifle their offense.
"It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." - Bear Bryant
I don't know about the 42 part..
But I agree on the “failing to find the endzone.” With the redzone troubles they have had, and our D I just can’t see it. Our offense will be better than the Barners expect, but I am unsure of 42 points worth of good. Bottom line: we win. 27-3
ps. I would LOVE for you to be right!
31-10
Its close early and we take over in the 2nd half.
When you are an Alabama fan you have to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because i want to.
I'm goin with you...

an end to the pain...
i see a very tough and hard fought game on both sides. 3 quarters of smash mouth defensive football with the Tide taking over in the 4th and pull out to a good win. Final 29 – 13
41-3
like the arkansas game, combined with the arkansas st game. rich and flavorful, smooth and delicous, this game doesn’t disappoint. yessir, we’re going to smoke em like so much fine kentucky tobacco (cough weed *cough*)…
for real, this game is going to be an absolute ass kicking.
Finebaum--for what it's worth
He spoke at a lawyer function on Friday and Iasked his score prediction and he says Bama will beat the Barn by 12-14 points. He had a funny analogy of each of the SEC teams as a middle east country. Wish I could find it in print. Anyway, we are Saudi Arabia and the Barn is Al Queda (sp?).
marycontrary
Here you go...
ALABAMA:Saudi Arabia. Once a proud kingdom, torn up by fighting and surrounded by Iran and Iraq (see below), with an a$$hole in Al-Qaeda hell bent on bringing them down.
LSU: Iran. Current superpower in the region but it will all come crashing down because they have a highly functioning retard as a leader.
TENNESSEE: Iraq. Got a bunch of history but the country as a whole is going in the tank and they will kill themselves off before it’s allover.
FLORIDA: Syria. Evil douche bags who will stoop to whatever level they need to win. No real history to speak of but thinks they are the cradle of civilization.
GEORGIA: Kuwait. Tons of riches and unrealized potential, but still vulnerable to Iraq.
AUBURN:Al Qaeda. No country just a movement of disgruntled fanatics who live to blow up those who are more fortunate. No other goal in life than to bring down the House of Saudi Arabia. Terrorizing the Arabians for 6years is the crowning achievement in their history. Signing day was a major setback to the movement. They’ll be looking for a new leader soon.
ARKANSAS:Palestinian territories. No one really cares or worries about them unless they can be of some use (i.e. winning a battle once in a while against Iran that causes a bit of shake up in rankings)
MISSISSIPPI STATE: Qatar. Where the hell is Qatar?
OLE MISS: Afghanistan. Not much going for it, but hot women.
VANDERBILT: Israel. Just leave them alone for God’s sake. What did they ever do to you?
KENTUCKY: Morocco. Not really part of the Middle East. Has other things to do than fight (or play football)
SOUTH CAROLINA: Libya. Had a charismatic leader in a land of nothingness. Will rattle his sword but knows he doesn’t have a whole hell of a lotto back it up with
One Auburn fan's RATIONAL prediction
Here’s how I see it working out. Alabama will be pumped up to play in this game. They will come out hot, and ready to blow the doors off of the sucker. What Auburn needs to do to have a chance to win is to withstand the first flurry of punches and make it into the later rounds. If Alabama takes a huge lead in the first quarter or first half, then the rout is probably on. If Auburn can keep it relatively close, then they have a chance, because the closer Auburn comes to taking the lead late in the game, the more that “six in a row” starts creeping into the back of Bama players’ heads. However, I just don’t think this will happen. Bama won’t blow the doors off of Auburn in the beginning of the game, but will have a comfortable lead at halftime, and will cruise to a solid, not exceptional, double-digit win.
Auburn 13
Alabama 27
PS – What happened to the “I hate Auburn” thread? It was just starting to get good!

Okay, rational right back at you...
You’re not scoring 13 on us (unless we give you those points with pick sixes, etc). You scored 13 on the defensive abomination known as Georgia. We are considerably better on that side of the ball. Second, there will NOT be the creep of “6” in these players’ heads. Different team. Different coach. Different attitude. These guys are not quite, but soon to be, assassin-level in their penchants for beatings. I see a game much like the UT one. Close at first, no offense really from either side, we crank it up, wear you down and it’s a typical methodical Saban-esque beating of another physical team. That’s just how we roll, lawya’.

And also, in all seriousness
If Alabama could score 13 on us in 2004 with that kid Pennington as their QB, then surely we could score 13 on 2008 Alabama with Burns.

But, gotta' look at the scores man
Teams that have scored 13 + points in anything but garbage time are as follows: Ole Miss (20); LSU 21. That’s it. UK got two cheapies for 14 points at the end. GA got theirs in garbage time when we were playing soft/safe, Arkie got 7 in garbage time for a grand total of 14.
Contrast that with the following teams that did NOT get 13+ (garbage time or otherwise): Clemson (10); Tulane (6); WKU (7); UT (9); Arkie State (0); MSU (7). Your offense is much much closer to the MSU/UT offense than the Ole Miss or UGA variants. And, I promise, if we take a lead that foot is NEVER coming off your throats.

I'd be surprised if
it is a blowout since we can’t seem to blow out anybody. Auburn’s O is bad, and I don’t think they can score more than 14. But, their D is decent and they have nothing to lose. I think we will have our hands full, but I do think we will prevail in the second half. Bama 27- Auburn 13.
But hey, I’d take 7-3 right now and be very happy with the win.
Help me with this "intangible" factor.
It has been stated over and over that AU has nothing to lose. That this is one of the intangibles. Just because a team has nothing to lose, does that mean it will help them WIN?
For example, what did they have to lose against UGA? Didn’t they pull out all of the stops and play their “best game of the season” with a “healthier team” there? It seems to me, it the next to the last game in a season where they haven’t won the “big” games, they were in a situation where they had nothing to lose and it really didn’t help them win that one.
So, how is it an advantage for AU in the ironbowl?

Honestly
24-16, closer than expected. Dude, Auburn is Auburn. They will show up to play.
Oh we win of course, They will only score one TD on us but they will get field goals. BUT is Wes Bryum healthy enough? thats the question. He is the key for Auburn because they wont be able to get in the endzone more than once on us.
Their defense is good, and Tubby knows how to make JPW his b**ch so watch out.
We win, and the SEC Championship will be in our grasp.
Prediction
Auburn will win the toss and elect to take the ball. The Tigers have great balance and take a 7-0 lead on a Burns bootleg. Bama will march it down the field with ease and tie it up. Auburn stalls, Bama moves the ball but cannot get in the endzone. 10-7 Bama. Auburn stalls again. Wilson will throw an INT, and give AU the short field, and Auburn has no luck in the red zone, but we get 3. 10-10. Bama takes the lead again with sbout a minute left in the half. 17-10 Bama at the half.
Bama comes out and runs the ball down Auburns thoat. 24-10 Bama. Auburn plays on Burns and Fannins heart alone and cuts it to 24-17. Areanas fumbles a punt and gives Auburn another short field. Hull kicks another field goal 24-20 Bama.
The Bama fans get restless, but Wilson leads Bama to a much needed TD in the fourth. 31-17 Bama. Kodi Burns does all he can, but turns the ball over late in the game.
Final 31-17 Bama.
As much as I try, I cannot see the Tigers pulling out a win. The only true way to see us hanging around is if Bama gives us the short field. Stranger things have happened, but Bama is just too big in the trenches.

Prediction— BAMA- W AUBURN – L and really don’t care how.
You Gotta Roll With The The Tide, Down In Alabama Thats The Way We All Survive. We Don’t Swim Against The Current When The River Gets Too Wide, WE JUST LAY BACK AND ROLL WITH THE TIDE!!!
The Barn is Done
I see us go up at halftime 24-3, in the second half we get a late touchdown in the 3rd to make it 31-3, in the 4th we might score again but the Barn gets a late touchdown in the fourth. Final: 38-10
