Gobble Gobble Open Thread: What are You Thankful For?

Personally, I have parents that love me and a wonderful girlfriend so that's pretty nice. And, to be flippant, there's that whole 11-0 thing. We'll be back tomorrow with thoughts on the Iron Bowl. 'Til then, party like the Pilgrims.

Where to start.

First im thankful for being alive. I am thankful for my wife and unborn child (due in Feb). And in these economic times, im just thankful to have a good job with a great boss.

When you are an Alabama fan you have to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because i want to.

I think I'm thankful for so much that it'd be easier to name what I'm not thankful for...

but that’s stupid, so here goes…
my son…
my fam…
my friends…
my life…
my job (security)…
and, of course, the Alabama Crimson Tide…
hahaha…that’s lame, but it has kept some relationships alive (looking at you Pops) and it has made new ones (all the homies from this site)…
so Happy Thanksgiving everyone…
see you saturday…

Is he about to go taliban on her?

It looks like he’s reaching for his pistol…perhaps it’s her shameless display of ankle and the teasing manner in which she flips her cross around?

yea...he's got is finger pistol ready to shoot...

but first…ITS. TIME. TO. DANCE!

Thankful

For my girlie, for my kiddo (with her psychotic baby mama in Alabama), for my job, for my friends, but NOT thankful for the lame UT-TAMU game tonight, nor my student loans.

GOBBLE GOBBLE, MFERS...

…I’m thankful for my wife, my kids, my health, my life. Roll Tide.

RollBamaRoll

This may sound smarmy, but I am thankful for RollBamaRoll, my home on the Internet where I can get my fix of Bama football talk and also vent my frustration with other teams and fanbases.

Of course, I’m also thankful for my wife, my unborn baby (also due in February, bammer), my job, my great house, my son, my friends, and the great season the Tide is having!

I’m also thankful to live in a country founded on the belief that all men are created equal and endowed by our Creator with the unalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And, I’m thankful for all the men and women serving at home and abroad to secure these rights.

But, I’m most thankful for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who died on a cross to buy my salvation and is preparing a place for me in heaven with Him.

Thankful...

For my son, my family, my friends, and the fact that we all celebrate a day each year that is focused upon giving thanks for all that we have.

I’m thankful for my country, my freedom, and all the men and women in the military making sure I get to keep it. I’m also thankful for the veterans who went before them.

I’m thankful for this amazing 11-0 season. I’m thankful for the Alabama Crimson Tide, and I’m thankful for sites like this one where I can indulge my obsession with like-minded people like you…

Lots this year...

I’m thankful I’m able to spend Thanksgiving with my mother another year. I’m thankful for friends, especially new ones made here on RBR. I’m thankful I had a job that provided me the opportunity to travel the world and experience other cultures, but doublely thankful that I live in the greatest country on the planet.

I’m thankful my sister and I are going to Tuscaloosa this weekend to experience the end of the Barn’s current streak. I’m thankful for the greatest tradition in college football that had the greatest coach in history. I’m thankful for Coach Saban and the way he has inspired our football team to be the best that they can be. Yeah, there is that 11-0 thing, but more than that I’m just thankful to be part of the Alabama family.

A lot to be thankful for

I am thankful for not getting laid off again,
for my family and friends, all of whom are alive and healthy,
for having a job that sustains and gives me tha ability to not live paycheck to paycheck,
that my brother-in-law Brian, my good friend Rio, and Spock all made it home from Iraq safe and sound,
for the ability to about to make an offer on a house, when so many are losing theirs,
to be able to worship my Savior in a free society (even though your boy has a lot to work on),
that Vicki survived the LSU game (not joking on that one);

Superficially:
Alabama being 11-0 (Spock, the bond of Bama football brought me and my Dad back together after a few years on the out following the divorce),
Being able to hang with you guys Saturday – seems like a small thing but it is good for the heart and the soul.
That my wife is a decent cook,
That I work at a facility with a fitness center so I can (and am) working to get back in shape after gaining 50 lbs after marriage and grad school,
That I have to work tomorrow and don’t have to go shopping with “the wife” LOL
That the rumor is Santa is bringing me a WII (what can I say, I am a big ass kid!)

And to all my good friends at RBR:
Bamavicki, Spock, Comer, Capt Stu, Bix (wherever that fool is), Todd, Nico, OTS, and all the other folks I have gotten to know on this site. I am looking forward to seeing everyone Saturday, and within 48 hours we will be celebrating a perfect season and a WHOOPING on the barn. Roll Tide!

Thankful for. . . .

having the best sons a mother could ever ask for (even IF one is an Aubarn fan lol), my parents, family, friends and I’m even thankful for my husband of 28 yrs (yes even after all these years I’m thankful for him LOL)

I’m thankful for living in the South and enjoying the best sport EVER….ALABAMA FOOTBALL!!!!

I’m thankful for RBR and the friendly people I have met on this site……ya’ll give me a laugh most days and ALWAYS keep me updated on our beloved Tide!!!

and last but not least I’m thankful to live in a country where we can be free to celebrate days like today!!

I hope everyone had a great day today and had their fill of turkey and dressing. . . . . now it’s time to prepare for Saturday!!

RTR

That's the paradox of success. The moment you stop to enjoy it, you are in trouble. You have to keep moving forward. It's not what you have done that's important. It's where you are going.

My family and friends

My daughter was critically ill this summer (as in going by ambulance from Mobile to UAB for emergency surgery) and I am thankful for her bravery (age 14) my wonderful husband who was with us every step of the way, all of family and friends who rallied around us, Dr. McGrew and all of the fantastic drs @ UAB and Children’s and Dr. Galle our pediatrician. Now she’s a normal, occasionally sullen, healthy teenager and we’ve seen the Tide win 3 games in person this year. We are thankful for all of the people who prayed for us and a merciful God who answered our prayers. To ya young guys with babies on the way—you can’t imagine what that iit s like but you will suddenly understand come Feb! For our country and our feeedom and safety, and turkey, dressing aand key lime pie and winning the IRON BOWL!! And CNS, too.
