Colin Peek Eligible For Bowl Game
In a bit of breaking news from Coach Saban, Colin Peek is eligible for the bowl game.
This is pretty big news, to put it mildly. If you remember correctly, Peek transferred from Georgia Tech when Paul Johnson took over the Ramblin' Wreck, and he has done very well in Tuscaloosa. Honestly, based on the practice and scrimmage reports, Peek is the best tight end that we have, better than either Nick Walker or Travis McCall.
Unfortunately, Peek was forced to sit out a year because of the transfer requirements, but apparently given the date he transferred, he only has to sit out until the end of this calendar year. Thus, considering we will be getting a bowl game on New Year's Day or later, Peek will be eligible for the bowl game.
Apparently Jermaine Preyear is also going to be eligible for the bowl game, the greyshirt from the 2008 recruiting class, but it's highly unlikely he will play. Peek, on the other hand, could very well be a difference-maker for the Tide, and he'll give us another play-making possibility in our offense when we go bowling here in a little over a month.

Plus, with Walker and McCall graduating
It’ll be nice to get the kid a lot of reps before next season. Can the Process do no wrong???

No, no it can't....
….as much as it will hurt losing the talent and experience that Walker and McCall bring to the TE position, having Peek (who has plenty of talent and experience in his own right) eligible and the development of Smelley shouldn’t give us too big of a drop off (if any) at TE. Plus, Chris Underwood should be in the full swing of things after this season and another spring and fall.
