1. Alabama - vs Auburn - W 36-0
2. Boise State - vs Fresno State - W 61-10
3.Utah - idle
I will obstinately cling to my lunatic fringe status by keeping Utah and Boise State ranked ahead of Florida et al, but I am shifting Boise ahead of the Utes since, even though their 1A opponents have a combined 63-69 record, Boise has bested 8 bowl (eligible) teams while Utah has only beaten 5. And for the record, everyone else below them (save Ball State, whom I decided to move into the top ten anyway for beating a relatively solid Western Michigan team to stay undefeated) has a loss despite playing "the best football in the country," and when it comes to this poll, right or wrong, that's the first thing I'm going to look at, "quality wins" be damned.
4. Florida - at FSU - W 45-15
5. Oklahoma - at Oklahoma State - W 61-41
My ratinale for ranking OU ahead of Texas can be found here.
6. Texas - vs TAMU - W 49-9
7. Southern Cal - vs Notre Dame - W 38-3
8. Penn State - idle
9. Ohio State - idle
10. Ball State - vs Western Michigan - W 45-22
11. Texas Tech - at Baylor - W 35-28
12. TCU - idle
13. Cincinnati - vs Syracuse - W 30-10
14. Oregon - at Oregon State - WW 65-38
15. Boston College - vs Maryland - W 28-21
16. Oklahoma State - vs Oklahoma - L 41-61
17. Georgia Tech - at Georgia - W 45-42
18. Michigan State - idle
19. Northwestern - idle
20. Georgia - vs Georgia Tech - L 42-45
21. Ole Miss - vs Mississippi State - W 45-0
22. Mizzou - vs Kansas - L 37-40
23. Oregon State - vs Oregon - L 38-65
23. Iowa - idle
24. Pitt - vs West Virginia - W 19-15
25. Virginia Tech - vs Virginia - W 17-14
Dropped Out: Western Michigan (#21), Florida State (#25).

I still think
Texas got screwed. Just a difference of opinion. How nuts will it be if Mizzou beats the Sooners and Texas ends up in the BCS title game without winning their conference title? Insane.
Alabama judges its team by national and SEC titles. Auburn judges its team by how many times it beats Alabama. You tell me who the dominant team in the state is.

The Beavers should be absolutely drubbed out of the top 25
That bed-wetting in the Civil War (I think Oregon is still getting 10 yards per play) coupled with the slaughter in State College and two other losses just doesn’t do it for me…not given the relative weakness of their other wins. At this point, they’re skating by on the early season W over the (quite overrated) Trojans.

Not to be critical without a suggestion...
But, may I suggest Iowa? They have an identical record, have played in a marginally better conference, knocked off #3 PSU, and have beaten an equal number of bowl teams. The defense is legit and Shonn Greene is a friggin’ stud.

The move of Boise ahead of Utah...
…makes zero sense.

Since when...
…has that made any difference?

Just a quick stat
ND got their first 1st down on the last play of the 3rd quarter….wow!
When you are an Alabama fan you have to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because i want to.

Just curious...
…who would you rather not play: Ohio State, Ball State, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Northwestern, or Ole Miss? Pick one.
My pick: Ole Miss.

Ole Miss...
…is the scariest by far. I am truly grateful we got out of that game with a W.

It's all about Crimson - ROLL TIDE!!!

Ok, I'll play
1. Ole Miss: damned buzzsaw
2. Okie State: no secondary, but a frightening offense)
3. OSU: Prior and Beanie and Robiskie = enough offense to keep you on your toes…good, but slow linebackers.
4. Cincy: balanced, good coaching
5. MSU: good running game, susceptible defense.
6. Ball State: really, really good offense
7. NW: Are you kidding me? Vandy would wax these a’holes

I'll kill you.
Ok, not really, but Boise ahead of Utah? C’mon!
Utah’s SOS is 72. Boise State’s SOS is 115.
No comparison. Utah defeated three current top-25 teams, a solid Air Force team and did this in a far tougher conference than the WAC.

Wow...
…that’s the first death threat (that I can remember, anyway) I’ve ever gotten on here, and all over Utah! Anyway, you probably are right that the Utes should be ahead of Boise, but I can’t get that whole “Football Gods hate TCU” thing out of my head.

Hey, for a team that has been raped by the Football Gods the past three seasons...
I’ll take any goodness they give Utah.

Geez Jazzy.
You should be happy he has Utah as high as #5. Even your ballot only has Utah at #5.

I'm surprised...
No one else caught that Iowa is above Pitt, although Pitt beat the Hawkeyes? LOL!
Just kidding, Todd…I have no problem with this one…the Hawks are a better team, with a better body of work.

Pitt lost to Bowling Green...
…and is coached by Dave Wannstedt.

I like your poll
better than that Florida State dude’s poll. He’s got Utah at 24 because they don’t play in an almighty BCS conference. I believe they’re the only non-BCS school in his entire poll.

See, don't piss off my readers, they'll come over to your blog and make hell.
You hear that, Todd?
Are we clear?!?!
