Some points on the Florida game

So what is up with the TERRIBLE fake field goal call? I know Tiffin was out but how about playing for field position hmmn (BTW Tiffin needs to grow a sack if he is going to strap on pads). If you know Tiffin is out then why not try a draw play on third and nine to get yourself in short yardage in four down territory? Or just punt the ball and play D. That play killed our mo! Thats the worse call I have seen by this Saban team.

Also, we should of hit Tebow on every play. The play when he hit his wide out in the endzone in goal line, we had someone coming from the other side. The dude totally let up instead of laying him out. I am not saying we should of hurt him, but if they rely on one player so heavily than punish him and wear him out in every opportunity.

Lastly, Arenas. I know this guy is breaking records (and has tons of talent) but he's also breaking our back. We have a number of quick players that can return balls, hopefully one of them has more brains than Arenas. Don't you think Maize and or Scott could return some punts? My brother gets p'd when I bring this up, but I think he's flat wrong. I love Javy, I just don't trust his decision making anymore.

Not to get negative. Great season, great team, great game, and I can't wait till Utah!

I'm in Tampa...

…and I can’t read the paper without Tebow slapping me in the face. There actually are some stories on the Bucs too. What a surprise. I’m crying less, so it’s getting better, but it is still waaaaay too soon to dissect it any more than OTS did.

I've moved on...

…and recommend you do, too. I agree with all three of your points, lbdasdog, and could add several more, if that’s what you need to bury this thing. But I’m over it. I followed the 24-hour rule of CNS, and I’m done. It’s over. We can’t get it back…this year.

We can beat Utah and win our 13th game of the year in our 13th appearance in the Sugar Bowl and end this thing on a positive note. That’s only fitting, since this year has been such a positive experience. I was grinning ear to ear watching our games with Clemson, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi State, and Auburn. We played a perfect regular season. We won the West. We can still split the postseason. We get to party in New Orleans. We will have a top-five recruiting class. The future is bright.

Maybe it’s Todd’s singing, but this site has been too sad lately. It’s time to look forward, people. It’s part of the process, aight? Roll Tide.

We thought...

…future schedules would cheer people up. Future schedules always make me happy. :)

by Nico2.0 on Dec 11, 2008 4:42 PM CST up reply actions

Since you bring it up...

…the 2010 schedule doesn’t really cheer me up, ’cause it looks too tough to run through unscathed. Hopefully, we can do what OU and FU (UF) have done this year and make the title game despite a presumable loss.

I am, however, very excited about attending the Sugar Bowl come January 2nd. And recruiting season. And Spring Training. And A-Day. And…

by NiceLittleSaturday on Dec 12, 2008 10:20 AM CST up reply actions

Amen to that!

I, too, am sad we lost. But we lost to the likely BCS Champions in a tough, well-played ball game. I’m proud of our team, I’m proud of our perfect regular season, and I’m looking forward to making all the sportscasters currently predicting the Utes (Utes? Really?) to win and kicking some butt in the Sugar Bowl. Roll Tide everybody.

I just

don’t get a chance to get on the boards that often. With work and school, this was the first time I had a chance to vent…

Perhaps I should have stressed the last part. I am not trying to be negative. We had a great year and beating up on Myer’s (the new Tubs) old team will be great! I can’t wait to see us, Florida and Ole Miss whoop ass in our bowl games. People think the SEC is down, but they will see who has the best conference come January.

I understand that we need to move on. I just wanted to know if I was correct in my observations. To often we take our opinions for facts instead of seeking alternative view points…

by lbdasdog on Dec 11, 2008 11:06 PM CST up reply actions

It probably is the kind of thing you have to vent face to face!

I, personally, am not so heart-broken by the game. I am blue about it, but can talk about it with some of my friends, 2 brothers, and dad without tears since Sunday afternoon. You just don’t know who takes it to heart on here, so you just have to pretend everyone does, see?

I learned all of this from the one brother I cannot call until….maybe Christmas? When we win again? Some people just get more invested than others, for many different reasons. That’s why it is such a great sport!

by crimsongirl on Dec 11, 2008 11:54 PM CST up reply actions

yeah i was mad for about 24 hours

Then i was over it…..Its just a game and at some point you have to move on.
