What were Chizik's negative comments about Auburn?
I have read several places thaat when Chizik was leaving Auburn to go to Texas that he took some cheap shots at Auburn on his way out the door. Does anyone know if indeed this is true, and if so, what those comments were? I hate to rub salt into a wound, such as the big festering pustule they have going up on the plains, but hey, it is the Barn. Also, was Texas really #99 in total defense and 10th in the the Big 12 in total defense while Chizik was their DC, or is this urban legend? Just wondering....

Texas...
…won the national championship while he was there, so I’m pretty sure nobody was terribly concerned if the stats weren’t great on paper (I have no idea what they were though.)
Too bad
Texas won that NC on the back of Vince Young….
When you are an Alabama fan you are expected to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because I want to.
totally agree
And thats what im saying….people will think he’s a good coach because he was on a NC team…well sorry dude…the reason you won that NC is sitting the bench and crying like a B*#&$ in Nashville… and not at Auburn…

And
They are leading there division with there back up QB.

He said, in essence,
That it was easier to get a HC job from Texas than from Auburn…Sorry, no citation ;)

I
don’t know but he sure seemed to take some shots at Tubbs I thought in the presser yesterday. Did anyone else catch that?
Here is what he said
In summary he basically said that being HC at Texas was a better opportunity than being the HC at Auburn. He didn’t trash Auburn, he just said what 95% of the country would agree with.
perhaps...
…but it’s a tactless thing to say about the school you were leaving. and it doesn’t bode well for his future.
if nothing else, a coach in today’s environment has to be an expert at understanding the perception of his public comments and act accordingly. witness saban’s oft-criticized but highly effective policy in terms of handling the media. chizik best learn to watch what he says in front of the microphones because he just became one of the most highly scrutinized head coaches working in the ncaa.
Auburn coaching search
Here is the official list stolen last night from Jacobs’ office:
1. Will Muschamp
2. Pat Dye
3. Burt Reynolds as Jack Horner (the Colonel was part of the package, too)
4. Turner Gill
5. Rush Propst
6. John L. Smith
7. Mr. Roper
8. Orson Swindle
9. Louis Farrakhan
10. Gene Chizik
I personally think they should have waited on Horner.
damn propst
if u didnt doink the highschool cheerleaders youd be in business. I know Coach they are super hot but so are their moms……fyi for your next gig
Hell, no! A tie is like kissing your sister!
Jackie Treehorn could outcoach Jack Horner any day
But if they could get Burt Reynolds as the Bandit, I might like Auburn a little better.

Roper
would have been a good pick. He’d have stayed at the office all day to keep away from his sex-starved moo-moo wearing wife.
I'm in no condition to drive...wait! I shouldn't listen to myself, I'm drunk.

Is Rush Probst related to Marcel Proust?

If you read all of that...
And, I mean ALLLLLLL ALLLL ALLLL of it, you are a better man than I. I was an English Minor and Philosophy major at Bama, which means I slugged through both the inscrutable and the artsy, yet nothing (besides Mann in German) can compare to Proust…
Well, except the Auburn hiring process.

rush propst is
a bonifide sleeze ball… but when you are a winner people tend to turn the blind eye…. (I decided to delete my reasons why…)
Rush Propst
made John Parker Wilson the quarterback he is today.
