Atlanta SECCG Bama Watering Hole
Will be staying about 1 mile due east of the Georgia Dome. Would appreciate any suggestions for good Friday night watering hole for Bama fans. Also any suggestion for a good steak house and/or barbecue joint within walking distance or a short taxi ride wud be appreciated.
Man, am I looking forward to this game trip. Haven't seen our guys play in person since we whupped Woody Hayes in the Sugar Bowl. Yes, I am of that era which is why I don't do too well chattering on these blogs. But while a student, I did get to shake hands with the ole Bear, Namath, Stabler and a few others.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

The Cheyenne Grille in Buckhead is an Alabama bar, and they are having a rally on Friday.

Also, Stats is a great bar that is on Marietta St pass the CNN Center. It is a great sports bar with a unique concept.

Head out to Decatur
And have a world-class beer at the Brick Store Pub! I’ll be there on Saturday for sure, and maybe Friday night.

Ahhhhh the Atlanta restaurant thread...
My favorite. Any restaurant owned by the Buckhead Life Group is a sure thing. Chops is their strakhouse – it is in Buckhead which isn’t really that close, but not too far either. As far as downtown – they have a couple chain restaurants – Ruth’s Chris and Legal Seafood is right near the Dome. Stats is good too, they have really good food for a sports bar.
One of my favorites is a place called Thrive – it is in the ground floor of the Centennial Tower downtown near Centennial Park. Great food and a great scene. It is kind of dressy though, so you wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing your tide sweatshirt and jeans in there. Cheyenne is a great bet because of its affiliation with the Bama Alumni Association. Cheyenne is close to Virgiani Highlands which has a great bar scene and is more casual. There are a bunch of bars there including a Taco Mac and such.
Have fun !

make sure you get in touch with comer DAYS before the game...
otherwise he will be lost in a drunken haze…
in fact, email him now…the party has probably already started…
