Andre Smith has been suspended from the Sugar Bowl, according to a statement from coach Nick Saban:

First off, what a huge disappointment! Andre has always been so upstanding, so this one really bothers me. Secondly, what will this do to us on the field?

It sounds like it might be something that had happened previously, and the university is doing the only thing it can do, not letting Andre Smith play. A lot of speculation, but I am sure we will hear what it exactly was soon enough.

i just dont see...

how this could happen without some premeditation on smittie’s part?…for him to be stand up all year and all of a sudden…close to Drafting…hes not playin? cha ching, cha ching…guess we cant blame him…

being the douchey, glass is half-full optimist these days. This really isn’t like me at all.

This might actually be better for you guys though, you get to see who will replace him next season and the backup gets some great experience in a great atmosphere. And my guess would be some kind of agent contact for the draft, you guys had to see it coming that he would leave.
