RBR Should Cover UA not AU
Why do I come to rollbamaroll and see aritcles about Auburn's new OC? I couldn't care less about Auburn's OC. If I wanted to read that I would visit an AU blog. Please spare us any tripe coming from Lee County. Furthermore, I've been visiting RBR for about 6 months now, and I don't like negative things about other teams posted on here unless there is a direct UA connection. Pointless mudslinging may be considered all in fun by many, but it comes across as classless to me. My wish would be for RBR to take the high road. Just my opinion...
FanPosts are just that; posts created by the readers of this site. They are in no way indicicative of the opinions of SBN and the authors of Roll Bama Roll.

I agree with you...
to an extent. But they are an in-state rival and an SEC opponent. I do agree that when Tubbs/Franklin was fired and then the Chiznik hire occurred there was too much attention given to Auburn around here.
I think a lot of fans dwell on the circumstances in Auburn because of the importance attributed to the rivalry. I believe that the fans focus should be on Championships, but as we all know, fanbases have a mind of their own.

To
be fair, that whole situation was a national story and as mentioned, they are our hated rival and SEC division opponent. You have to admit, with the whole Franklin drama, the firing of a popular (and successful) coach in Tuberville and the madness that followed with their coaching search, it was certainly worth talking about. That said, I agree at this moment we need to move on. You can get too caught up in what the other school is doing pretty easily. We play in a big game in a few days and then the second season begins (recruiting) so there will plenty of all Bama subject matter to us to chew on until the spring.

I'm sorry but...
…whine a little more, why don’t you?
First, space on the internet is not some scarce resource that we need to treasure and hold onto until we need it. RBR has virtually limitless space to post articles and a TON of contributors to help out. The presence of an article about Auburn, or Tennessee, or Brittany Snow does not reduce the amount of Alabama content.
Second, what happens to Auburn IS Alabama news because, guess what, we play them every year and we compete directly against them for the championships you want us to spend so much time talking about. In other words: news about Auburn is news about championships because we have to go through them to get one.
Third, there’s a vast difference between turning every post into a shot at Auburn and posting about legitimate, news-worthy events on the Plains. The former is annoying and classless (and doesn’t really happen here). The latter is absolutely necessary. Alabama plays football against other teams and what happens to them has a direct impact on our football team.
Finally, if none of that persuaded you, there’s a little button on the sidebar that says “New FanPost.” If you want more stories about Alabama get off your lazy hind end and write one. Be the change you want to see in the world this blog, and all that. Hell, in the time it took you to post this gripe, you could’ve written something useful.
PS: taking a peek at the nine fanposts prior to yours, here’s what I see: four posts directly about Alabama, two posts about the Malzahn hire (one announcement, one analysis), one link to a joke Auburn site, one about USC, and one social post. Just looking at front-page posts, there have been only three posts about Auburn since the Chizik hire, and two of them were promotions of the two fanposts mentioned earlier. That’s three total posts in a mass of about 60 stories.

I agree
If anything, I’d like to see more posts about the SEC in general. Let’s see an article about all the coaching changes, from Lane and Montie to Dan Mullen and Chavis. I’d write it myself but I’m lazy. If anybody doesn’t like a story, skip it, start your own blog, go somewhere else, etc.

Cahabaman
there is nothing I can add that hasn’t been covered in the previous three posts. Come on, give me a break. An overwhelming majority of this blog deals with Alabama, but you cannot have a comprehensive and complete college football blog by ignoring national and local stories. That comes with the territory. If you don’t get that, then you don’t have a very good understanding of what seperates good sports sites from outstanding sports sites. ESPECIALLY when it deals with our biggest rival. How do you NOT think that is a relevant topic to discuss???

Also
RBR takes the high road quite often. In fact, Nico and Todd do not allow the shenanigans to take place that take place at other sites – looking at you, TET – in regards to flaming and insulting members. I think pherhaps next time you need to look at the whole picture rather than slinging diatribes that are not completely explored and, frankly, wrong in so many ways.

Very true BRO&
In a moment of complete rage, i posted a thread about two weeks ago calling out TET and it was promptly deleted. I was then sent an email explaining that we arent going to get into flame wars on this site. It goes to show the class of the guys who run this site…
As for Cahabaman-
I agree with everyone elses points about why we post stuff about Auburn but ill go a step farther. I do it cause im a little bored and I like debate/ express my opinions/ have a little fun. Sure this is first and foremost an Alabama site but its also a sports site. No we won’t talk about hockey but you will find post about Soccer (thank you Nico), the occasional NFL thread (especially when talking about how much we hate it) and sometimes we might actually talk about the other sports that Alabama is involved with. What are those again? Seriously there is a lot of stuff to talk about outside of Alabama football. Even though that may be hard to believe.
When you are an Alabama fan you are expected to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because I want to.

I disagree.
Hires by other teams in the SEC have an effect on Bama. Going to the AU blog, I will not get that. I will only get a biased opinion of the hire. On the posts here about the hires, I will get the straight-dope! (Pete’s post on Malzahn is a great example.) I will also get opinions from Bama fans as well as other SEC fans that are mostly well thought out and often make me laugh!
If you read regularly, you pick up on the personality of the regulars. You will see that most of the posts are harmless, not classless. If you took it that way, maybe you should read more often like the rest of us. =) Come on, everyone is doin’ it!
Finally, this has been a very weird year. OF COURSE there has been an abundance of posts involving other SEC schools! They are all in turmoil and we are 12-1 with NO turmoil or injuries.(knocking on wood!) As soon as the Smith news came out, there were 3-4 posts—there just isn’t much NEW at this point. It has been a welcome break for us. Be thankful. It will be ALL BAMA right after the Sugar Bowl…check back then.

There are no basketball infidels in Tuscaloosa. Alabama is a football school that has never engaged in any sporting events using spherical balls. Any suggestion to the contrary is a lie!

here's a suggestion....
right now todd is down with a cold and i assume the other guys are busy with holiday goodness… as is their wont when they can’t crank it out, they move quality fanposts and fanshots to the front page. pete’s post certainly met that criteria.
if you would prefer seeing other types of items on the front, post better fanposts – it’s that simple.

why is it that no matter what somone is going to find something to bitch about? Instead of bitching about a completely free source of information and entertainment, why not just find anohter place that is more suitable to your delicate palate?

How can one dispute the quality of RBR
Bama fan for 30 of 42 years. Happened up on a link before the season to RBR and now my wife says I’m addicted. Don’t read most of my emails any more. Just RBR. The other blogs I’ve been to can’t hold a candle. I spend 15-20 min and look elsewhere. I can spend hours here.
The amount of football knowledge I’ve gained from here(recruiting, coaching styles, schemes, etc) is unfathomable to me. Don’t know any where else I could’ve learned this much about football, period.
Guess this is the opportunity I been waitin for.
Thanks to Todd, Nico, OTL,and all the RBR faithful and THE TEAM and Coaches for making this one of the best seasons since I’ve been a tide fan.
