Alright...no more whimpering from the Mid-Majors
Boise and Ball State. 24-0 between the two of them. Explosive offenses, serviceable defenses. Both are going to be screwed (allegedly) in the Big Money games. BSU extends the invite to the Cardinals, "Hey, come play us"....what is Ball State's reaction?
MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) -- The Humanitarian Bowl has announced that Ball State has declined an offer to play Boise State on the Broncos' home field in Idaho on Dec. 30.
The Cardinals did not want to play a bowl game so far from their Muncie campus on their opponents' home field.
Yea, because Tempe, Miami, Los Angeles and NOLA are soooo close to Muncie. This is a cop out, and it's chickes***. I don't want to hear from any more of the mid-majors whining when they get shut out. This was Ball State's one opportunity to make a name for themselves, rather than go to Detroit and beat on a 5th place Big 10 team, and what do they do?

Humanitarian?
Boise State and Ball State go undefeated and that is the bowl they get? I agree that they probably shouldn’t be BCS busters, but I would think Boise State at least would go to a bigger bowl…

Yea, you would think so...
But, irrespective of the bowl slate, it would have been one helluva’ opportunity to show the country what they can do. NOW, you get a slap fight between a bad Wisc team and Ball State, and the 7th place ACC (whomever that is this week) getting slaughtered on the Blue Turf.
The Ball State apologists have abdicated the right to rant about getting screwed.

And what the crap is up with teams getting to play
Bowl games on their home city/field? Georgia Tech and now Boise State? What’s next, USC playing in the Rose Bowl? Oh, wait…

If I'm not mistaken
Doesn’t Boise host the Humanitarian bowl?

What's the Problem?
It would be a Boise Home game, why would you submit yourself to that when bowls are supposed to be neutral field endeavors?
I hope Ball State goes to Mobile for the GMAC. I would like to see those two undefeateds play but on a true neutral field.
I'm in no condition to drive...wait! I shouldn't listen to myself, I'm drunk.

I would LOVE to see that, as I attend that game every year, but...
the only way that happens is if Ball St loses to Buffalo tonight. The MAC Champion goes to the Motor City Bowl, then the GMAC bowl gets next pick, which would definitely be Ball St. Right now, since the GMAC bowl always ends up C-USA runner up versus MAC runner up, it appears the game will be Buffalo v. East Carolina. However, the runners up I just stated are NOT the second best teams in those conferences, so they might chose Rice out of the C-USA (I hope) and Central Michigan out of the MAC (I hope).

It's nice to know...
…that there’s someone out there who hopes to see a game between Rice and Central Michigan.

What can I say, NLS, I'm just a college football fanatic...
I can probably tell you more than you’d ever want to know about teams you didn’t even know were in D-I football.

One of my best friends...
…just moved to Mobile, so I might be going to the GMAC Bowl this year as I’ve been invited down for it. If we’re in Miami though, the GMAC Bowl can kiss my bootay.
Oh, and Rice has already accepted an invite to the Texas Bowl.

Word...
I’ll be there fo sho. It usually ends up being a good game (sans last year’s blowout of Bowling Green by Tulsa). I always meet some great people and it’s just a good time all around.
