Four Alabama Players Named AFCA All-Americans
Today the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) released their list of 2008 All-Americans, and the list included four Crimson Tide players. Those players are left tackle Andre Smith, center Antoine Caldwell, nose guard Terrence Cody, and safety Rashad Johnson.
The Tide's four All-Americans mark the most of any team in the country, and to my knowledge it's the first time we've had multiple All-Americans since Shaun Alexander and Chris Samuels in 1999.

Wow
congratulations to all of them….that is awesome!!!
That's the paradox of success. The moment you stop to enjoy it, you are in trouble. You have to keep moving forward. It's not what you have done that's important. It's where you are going.

What a...
…special group. Andre Smith seemed destined for this from the day he put on that houndstooth hat and mile-wide grin. Antoine Caldwell almost left after a season in which he would have been best remembered for getting suspended, and instead is the team captain for the only undefeated major college team in the country. Terrence Cody got passed over by virtually everyone, everyone except a certain coach with an eye for NFL talent. Rashad Johnson was a walk-on running back who made himself into the finest safety in college football, and seemingly the finest young man on our team. I’m not surprised they’re being recognized, because I wouldn’t trade one of them for anyone in college football. Congratulations, men. And thanks.
