Why this PSU fan is pulling for 'Bama
Sorry to jump on your site, but I was interested to get your perspective on all the media hype with UF. I am personally tired of hearing about how great Tim Tebow is, how fast UF is, how many weapons they have, blah blah blah. It's starting to make me sick.
As a PSU fan, I know what it's like to be disrespected in the polls as well as when being mentioned against a top ten team (eh-hem U$C). So basically what I am saying is that I respect your team's position and I feel for you when they make you a 9 point underdog as the #1 team.
So let me ask you this and please be honest...
Is the media right? Is UF that good? And on a scale of 1 to 10...how confident are you guys (as fans) going into this game?
Thank you and good luck today. I hope 'Bama gives all those "experts" a nice big shit burger to eat today...

Welcome!
I am confident not so much for the stats as I am for the heart and soul I have seen out of this team this year. From the opening game against Clemson I have heard each week how Alabama would lose and, conversely, if they win, how ‘overrated’ their opponent was.
But each week, they win. Post game, from the players, it’s a next game, all business attitude.
I was thinking of Penn State this morning, actually, when Miami played them several years ago in the early-mid eighties and the ’Canes were supposed to roll right through them. Speed versus traditional football they said. The Lions beat them like a red headed step child. Alabama did the same in 92.
That is why they play these games on the field. I read somehwere on the net this morning Florida was playing around and joking during their morning walk through while Alabama was disguising formations and getting ready. Call it a hunch, a feeling, a vibe – and I have been wrong before – but I really feel Bama wins this game.
Alabama judges its team by national and SEC titles. Auburn judges its team by how many times it beats Alabama. You tell me who the dominant team in the state is.
Morning!
Have a Beck’s on me!
Now to answer your question, what we do isn’t flashy (although we do score 32 a game), nor is OMG! Big 12-ish shootouts. Nope, we line up and hit people…for 60 minutes. Somehow, I think Jo Pa would approve of that mentality…call it a hunch!
As for confidence prolly a 7. They are very good, very fast, very talented. But, they do play out of position, and they don’t dogfight well. We’ll make this ugly, try to control the tempo and point of attack on both sides of the line, then let it go from there.
Roll Tide (and good luck with U$C).
"penis fish"…google that, and the candiru is the first thing that pops up

you gotta understand...
that the 10 point isn’t meant to shame either team, it is created by Vegas to promote betting on the event. The give whatever spread that they believe will get fans from each side of the aisle to bet their money. I know many people that are intelligently betting on the under in this game and will probably make a lot of money.
From that aspect, I’m not worried about the lack of respect we are getting.
I am confident that our players will go out and give Florida all they bargained for. My confidence level is around an 8 on the outcome based on Florida’s injuries and their style of football.
My confidence swayed before the LSU and Auburn games, but for some reason I have a feeling our coaching staff will have Florida on lockdown tonight.
Certainly all the hype about the gators is deserved.
They are in fact one of the best teams in college football right now, and they are playing very well. But the media’s willingness to hand out SEC championship rings before the game is played, is not justified. I have found it interesting how little hype Alabama has received (comparable to other high-recognition teams) even since becoming the Number One team in the country five weeks ago.
Confidence is about a 7 for me. You can bet that no Nick Saban football team will be ill-prepared, especially for a game of this magnitude. Two UF defensive linemen either not playing or playing at less than 100% will be a focal point in play calling I’m sure. Going after the weakness fast and hard early will be key. If we don’t take it to them early and stay on it, this could be a long long day.
I'm about a 9 on the confident scale...
If Ole Miss can handle them at home and make Tebow cry, I know we damn sure can!
ROLL TIDE!!
GO LIONS!!
Thanks for the thoughts, Nittany
Your Coach is one of the only NCAA guys I’d be happy to buy a beer for—and you, two.
Never quit. It is the easiest cop-out in the world.
