Early Sugar Bowl Roll Call
I know we're 3.5 weeks out, but figured I'd get an early read on who is going to the Sugar Bowl (both Bama and Utah fans).

LittleSis and I...
…will be there. I was on the phone with Harrah’s outside the Georgia Dome immediately after the game making hotel reservations. Being a Diamond player with them has it’s perks.

Same here.
What are people’s thoughts on tickets (for non-students/season ticket holders)? I’m thinking the best value will be to try to get Utah tickets once they put them up for public sale on Friday (I’m assuming they won’t sell out their allotment to students and season ticket holders). Any thoughts?
Craigslist
then Look under salt lake city Utah. They already have a ton for sale. There is no way that Utah will bring 17500 people you can bet tickets will be plentiful and cheap $300 pair upperdeck.
Auburn fans are like slinkys... not really good for anything but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
I'm going
Since you asked about Utah fans. And to answer rugman, I think you are right. Not that I condone your fans sitting in our sections.
Alabama fans are going to snap up any ticket they can
I think we took something like 20K+ to Hawai’i one season and our fans will do things like buy season tickets of opposing teams if opposing team’s ticket offices are doing things like not selling singles to our games in hope of keeping us out of their stadium. At Vanderbilt last year, I know a lot of Bama fans bought season tickets to get the game and then put the rest on StubHub.
Hope to meet up with some Utes in NOLA.
hope to see you there
Four friends and I will be making the trip from out west to the game. We all very much look forward to some good clean fun with Alabama fans. We’ve tailgated with Big 10, Pac 10, Mtn west, and WAC fans this year and can’t wait to add a little SEC to the mix!
And just so you all know, the Univ. of UTAH in the NON-MORMON school in Utah!!! We drink, cuss, have premarital sex, everything normal. The mormon school here is blue and we hate them as much or more than you hate au.
Admittedly, Utah won’t travel as well as it did to the Fiesta Bowl in ‘05 where it sold 60,000 of the 71,000 available but the tickets are just about gone. It will be a road game but that’s fine with us.
Travel safely!!
Hehehehe

You guys are going to LOVE New Orleans then.
NOT GOING
Went last year to the Sugar Bowl, and New Orleans is dirty, stinky, and nasty, and honestly scary. I hated every minute of being down there and I will not be returning, no way in hell am i supporting that economy. My butt will be flopped out on my couch with a bottle of dickel and a gallon of sweet tea.
And no, my tix are not for sale for it, please dont blow my email apart like some did earlier in the year. thanks
Hell, no! A tie is like kissing your sister!
Wow, comer...
…sorry you had such a bad experience. I go to New Orleans rather often and have had some great times there. Fabulous food and music. I’ve never been in the Superdome though.

its Aight
im still bitter from that and from last weekend, and my crackberry is stuck in eastern time and noone can figure out how to get it back to normal time, im sick as a dog, and broke as a joke because a very good friend of mine was cut from his sales job and needed some help for christmas. and my dr yesterday told me i need less stress in my life or im going to have a heart attack before im 30…….its been a week

In what is sure to doom the Tide
I will be attending my first Bama game since the homecoming loss to Vandy in 84 (85?)
I'll be there...
…whether or not I have a ticket will be decided tomorrow when the names get posted on the door of Coleman Coliseum. I have a buddy whose parents live in NO so I’m going to stay at their place and either go to the game or watch it down there.
I'll be there with Mrs. Chang...
…and a couple of buds. We won’t be going to the game because I’m too poor, but I’d love to meet up for before/after game drinks. Nico, I believe I still owe you a drink.
Cool!
I was going to get in touch with you and see if you had any designs on going over. I will email soon.
I'm going to find some tickets now
and decide whether to go later. It’s a tough competition in my head, featuring the thrill of the crowd and the begging of my daughter versus the lure of the comfy sofa, clean restrooms, HDTV with all the replays you want. etc. I’ll post later somewhere about my tickets, if I do get them and don’t go.

I'll be in New Orleans
to see Troy whoop up on Southern Miss in the R+L Carriers Bowl!
Im a bad luck charm for the Tide anyways. Last game I went to was the FSU game and we all know that that may have been the worst game of football ever played, regardless of who your cheering for.
im not impressed with your performance
OK...
…I’ve got tix now, so I’m in fo sho. If you throw me some beads….

Don't you have to pull up your shirt for those?

I will be in NOLA
I don’t post much but I read all of it and love it. I will be in NOLA, but haven’t decided whether I will go to the game or watch from my Embassy Suites hotel room. Until now, I have watched every game this year from the same bar seat at the Orlando Bama Alumni Assn Bar (JB’s), wearing the same shirt (I did wash it every week) and drinking the same beers. Until last weekend, the shirt was undefeated, since I also wore it to the bowl game last year. I will probably have to retire it now and buy another one to start a new tradition of being undefeated. Probably wait and see if Harrahs can come up with some tickets to the game, since I am playing in a BlackJack Tournament there. Need a RBR sign so we can recognize each other.
Keep the shirt for regular season games
It’s 100% there…it’s just 50/50 in bowl/championship games. Have a new shirt ready for next year’s SEC title game, and we should have a phenomenal season!
I bleed crimson and white...I puke Vol puke orange. RTR
NYE in NOLA
can’t wait, I’ll be down there for the game then turn around and come right back for mardi gras in feburary!
I'm trying to decide...
…whether or not to do NYE there or elsewhere. There’s definitely some cool stuff going on in NOLA that night.
yeah, if you're in to...
$20 drinks, long lines, and shoulder to shoulder on Bourbon Street.
"There's a lot of blood, sweat, and guts between dreams and success" - Coach Bryant
no its not
but i dont think i would come out alive on any other street. Trust me boys, that guy passed out on the street at 7 am…….you might recognize him if I do come. Im starting to lean toward it, need a “good game butt pat” to get me on the way
Hell, no! A tie is like kissing your sister!
I had a feeling...
…you’d see that all of us are going and maybe change your mind. Come on, comer, we want you there.

UpTown, drinks are normal prices and more locals and college age chic....people
Auburn fans are like slinkys... not really good for anything but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
F&Ms and Grits
are usually the bars that I hit up in Nola. You can avoid getting pick pocketed and raped on drink prices there. As long as you can stand those awful cajun accents. NYE if any of you try and brave the crowd to watch the ball drop look back towards Jackson Square. On your left is the Pontabla Building. I will be on the corner balcony in the Pontabla Building.

We are definitely there...
…for NYE. We have a room, so why not?

Ive got tickets, plane tickets, and a hotel
i just dont know yet, im sitting here in my office today still pissed and what does my secretary bring me? You would think a cup of nice hot coffee but youd be wrong. The SI that has Tim Tebow on the cover and the game score. I trew it in a 5 year old timper tantrum and proceeded to leave the office for a few minutes. I have calmed down, until this………Another girl that works here, her husband came in wearing his florida shit and came straight back to my office and said “gator bait”. I walked out of my office, right into hers, and said “yoooooouuuuurrrrr fired!” (to the tune of Roll Tide)
HAHA i have the last laugh.
Hell, no! A tie is like kissing your sister!
yup
me and my dad are heading down and he ordered them late sunday night from stub hub and he called me today and said they came in. he also stated that the design of the tickets is bad ass!
We're not going, after all
Please cheer with enough volume to make up for my daughter, who has one of the strongest voices around. I have friends from NO, so I’ll ask about the latest hot spots and post them. Avoid Brennan’s unless you like a bowl with sliced bananas with half and half poured over it to the tune of $16.00, for starters. Eggs Benedict was (just Eggs Benedict and nothing else) was $36.00 ten years ago.

It's looking like...
the Sheraton is the place to be based on what I’ve seen from a lot of folks. I too, will be at the Sheraton.
See you there
Cool. We’ll be staying at the Sheriton on Canal. Is that the same one you’ll be in? It looks like the U of Alabama is a relatively short drive to N.O.
Our group is driving to Las Vegas (420 miles) to fly out cause it seems all flights from SLC are full (other than some incredibly expensive chartered flights).
Hope to meet some fun ‘Bama fans while we’re there!
BTW Do they have good sweet tea in LA?
Dear distantUte...
…reportedly, Bama’s team is staying at your hotel, and it’s huge, and it’s a short drive for a rabid fan base, so I’m guessing you’ll run into a few ‘fun’ Bama fans. Have a great time (except for the game itself).

I just wanna know who wants to party with yours truely in NOLA?
Hell, no! A tie is like kissing your sister!
We'll be at the Sheraton too, Comer...
…and partying nearby. Something tells me that in the Big Sleazy we can find a better spot than the Publix parking lot this time.

I will be there with the Shotblocker. Perhaps a couple others, but he and I will attend, look for the guys in the nosebleeds seats (were not planning on going till too late to get good ones) I am the short one in the Hunting MacIntyre tartan yelling “Utah, Utah, Utah!”.
Go ‘Bama, have a great time, good luck to your fellows, let’s meet up for a coffee or tour of B street, beignets at Du Monde . . . . .!
