Alabama BB is a complete disgrace. I hope the powers that be take a real good look at Gottfried in the off season. It's time to get a new coach. He has maxed out on his ability to coach this team.

I wanted to vomit watching us on the offensive end of the floor... We started playing Auburn's game, jacking up the threes, and that's why we lost. When we killed them in T-town it was with pressure half-court defense, turnovers, and the break. They have 6 freaking players--we can't just sit around and play the game how they want to play it.

CMG Must Go

I've been a "one more year" advocate for CMG, but after the SC debacle coupled with today's performance he's gotta go. Haven't missed an SEC home game this year, but I have a feeling I'll have something better to do this Wednesday @ 7pm...

It would be interesting if someone had access to coaching salaries and compare what CMG is hauling in per year with some successful mid major coaches.

I thought he should have been let go last year..

It's more than wins and losses, it's about hustle, attitude and MG's average coaching. Every coach has to deal with injuries, young players and bad luck, that's how you tell what kind of coach they are. Any average coach can take a loaded team a game or two into the NCAA tournament.

Florida lost practically their entire team and is playing with young guys, and they're not winning as much, but those guys play their guts out every game and Donovan has probably gotten as much as he can out of his guys.

Meanwhile, we can't (or won't) press, we can't break a press, won't get back on defense, run God-knows-what kind of offense, and let the opponent dictate the pace and flow of the game. That and Gottfried's below average in-game coaching = wasted talent and mediocre results.

Bama needs to really take a hard look at its
mens and womens basketball programs. Both are
really bad and it is really a shame. The basketball coaches are both good people and run
a clean program, but it is about winning and both
are doing a bad job at it!! Hope Mal Moore will
do something to get the programs back to the top of the SEC.

His time has come and gone

Look what Pearl did at UT in just 3 yrs. He took a crap program and just beat the #1 team in the country. MG has done the opposite. He took us from a national team (#1 ranking in 2003, elite 8, etc.) to a joke. He has gotta go.

I wouldn't piss off the boys from Alabama . . .

That's a bad argument

#1 ranking in 2003, with all of his own players while he was the coach. Whatever has changed between now and then, it isn't Gottfried (my guess is assistants). However, Gottfried is accountable for how his assistants do, how he picks assistants, etc.
