Apparently, going to a Final Four two years ago can't save your job when you've got injuries and inexperience to deal with...

I'm not a fan of this decision by LSU, and it makes me fear more for Mark Gottfried's job if he doesn't pull a few more SEC wins out of his hat...

I love MG but common on

we have hit rock bottom. I know we have the nations best PG on the bench and we would be in much better shape in the key player on the team was healthy, but we need to shake things up. Again, I point to UT. Look what the sweaty orange lunatic did at slUT in just a few yrs. I am a Memphis fan and I honestly think UT might beat them by 10 or more late this month.

I wouldn't piss off the boys from Alabama . . .

MG

I have always liked MG as well, but the first thing he needs to do is keep them at practice for as many hours as it takes to learn how to shoot freaking free throws!

Practice time is limited

There are strict time limitations imposed by the NCAA on practice during the week. Free-throw shooting just isn't something that you should have to spend hours a week on in practice. The players need to realize that and use some of their own time to practice their free throw shooting.

MG should already be gone..

He ran Ronald Steele into the ground last year when he didn't have to, nobody seems to guard anybody and we can barely get the ball in bounds half the time. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

As far as the NCAA tournament appearances, making the NCAA tournament when you're in a major conference is the equivalent of being 'bowl eligible' in football. In a conference like the SEC, you basically play your way OUT of the tournament instead of playing your way in. A .500 conf record and 18 or so wins will get you in.

I played a little ball in HS and am by no means an expert, but I was blown away by how bad MG was out-coached by Billy Donovan. Time for some new blood IMO.

John Brady's firing only demonstrates..

that MG should ALREADY have been fired. MG is grasping at straws trying to salvage a season that was lost many weeks ago. He is not capable of rejuvinating this team. He looks completely lost trying to coach. You cannot have but so many hours to practice during the week, BUT you can mandate that team members(that truly want to contribute) are to log a certain amount of "personal time" in the gym working toward improving their game. Coaches can't be there, but managers can. That is not considered organized practice. But then, MG has NEVER been known as a disciplinarian.

I think since he is a Bama Grad he should get the one more year rule. Or has he already gotten that one???? Dont know but lets see what he can do with RS,RH and the new top 50 recruits we signed back in the fall.
