Hendrix to the NBA?

There's been a lot of talk over the last few weeks about whether or not Richard Hendrix would leave a year early, and it looks like he's made a decision...sort of (emphasis mine):

University of Alabama junior forward Richard Hendrix said today that he would enter his name in the 2008 NBA draft, but would not hire an agent, leaving the door open to return for his senior year.

"After the season I had to come to a decision," Hendrix said. "I made the decision that I want to enter my name in draft. I do not plan to sign with an agent right now.

"I go into this procedure with the highest hopes and best expectations."

Hendrix said he "hoped" to be a first-round draft choice, but did not put an absolute condition on the possibility of his return.

I think
This is a big mistake for him. Yes i believe that he will one day play in the NBA but from what i have seen he needs more time. He got man-handled in the SEC tournament by MSU's post men. He just needs to work on his toughness in the paint before making that leap to the big leagues.

Not done yet...
Keep in mind all of this is not binding in any way whatsoever. He's going to get a draft evaluation, and I figure it comes back and says he is not a guaranteed first round pick. I imagine it all culminates with him returning to Alabama for his senior season.

If he gets a good draft prediction...
...I can't blame him at all for taking off.
