Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

So...we beat Vandy today.

But it doesn't seem like anyone cares.

Star-divide

I can only hope this can launch us into a good SEC tournament run.  Let's hope that Auburn loses tonight so we can play Florida in the 1st round and hopefully make a run.

Well...
You are correct on the former, and probably right on the latter too.

As for Auburn, they lost today to Arkansas, and Georgia lost to Ole Miss. So it seems like we are going to finish 10th in the SEC. I have no clue how that puts us in terms of match-ups in the tourney, but hopefully it avoids a game with UT to open it up.

Hoops season
I know we have only one shot at post season play and that is to win the tournament, but I did a little research that quite frankly pissed me off. We lost 11 conference games!!! We were down by one point at halftime in two of those games. We were winning or tied at half in five others. That's 7, count them 7, games that we had a legit chance to win in SEC play. We lost all 7 of those games. Why? I'll get into that later. If we win, say 5 of those 7, which is fair because we led by 7 at half twice, vs. LSU and UF. We went to OT vs. Arkansas and were without Hendrix vs. UK. If we win 5 of those 7 games, our SEC record would've been 10-6, with a 21-10 overall record and we're being considered heavily by the selection committee. My top 5 reasons for second half collapses

5. Our conditioning was not on the level with other teams. We had 8 days off before travelling to Auburn. We looked like we had played three straight days.

4.Our defense was terrible in the 2nd half of games. Some of that may be attributed to conditioning. Lack of defensive intensity was evident which is unexcusable.

  1. We couldn't shoot from the outside in the second half of games(except the last 90 seconds at Ole Miss). Maybe conditioning is a factor there to. If you don't have your legs under you, you can't shoot from three.
  2. FREE THROWS, FREE THROWS, FREE THROWS. Richard Hendrix, take note. Jamychal Green was 10-13 from the line in the final four at BJCC.
  3. Coach Gotfried is not a good bench coach after halftime. He doesn't make adjustments during the last 20 minutes. He doesn't substitute enough either and his substitution patterns are too erratic. Pickett went from starter to no minutes in four straight games, back to starter. Knox plays well, then gets no run. Tubbs is our 2nd best 3-point shooter and best perimeter defender and gets splinters in his ass. He plays guys out of position a lot also. Hollinger is not a point guard!!! Simple as that. He's a good backup two-guard and I love his 3-point shot, but he's a walking turnover. I don't think Torrance or Tubbs will be back next year. They both look miserable on the bench.
