You know...
Do you know how I know you're obsessed with football?

You're watching Gameday and Florida's spring game like I am.

you know how pathetic I am
i'll be hoping that someone puts the game up on YouTube because my emails to CSS have all fallen on deaf ears, and no contract between CSS and DirecTV has been worked out.

Wow, Freddie Milons flashback!

Underwood is a first team TE...
...while Nick Walker is running with the 2nd team. Interesting....

by Todd on Apr 12, 2008 2:26 PM CDT   0 recs

Re
I think that Underwood is actually the third teamer and McCall is the first-teamer.

Terry Grant...
...has obviously been working on pass protection.

They're saying...
...80,000+. Not full, but still better than anyone else is going to do.

by Todd on Apr 12, 2008 3:04 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I heard them say...
...78,000 at the end of the broadcast, but given how horrible the weather was yesterday that's not bad at all.

78,200 was official
and that looked about right.  We sat in the South corner endzone, and the stadium was full except for the upper part of the upper decks.  It was a blast, glad to get some good gameday sunburn!!! (neck, arms, face)

Thanks
Alex, these are some of your best yet!!  It was a beautiful and fun day. Coach Saban gave a great speech on the quad before the permanent captain ceremony. Prothro was on the plane from Atlanta to B'ham I was on and he is definitely not limping.  I spoke to him and he's kinda shy, soft spoken and seems like a very nice guy.

Complete and total luck
had a guy in front of me, couldn't see the play develop, and then Terry Grant precedes to take the ball 75 yards to the house, and runs right past me, was awesome.

Sign of the Apocolypse
Made my usual first stop in Tuscaloosa to pay homage at the Bryant museum.  I couldn't believe what I saw outside the entrance on the Bryant Drive side.  There were John Hannah (John FREAKIN' Hannah!) and Charlie Peprah signing autographs.  Awesome, right?  The weird thing, and the thing that made me shake my head in disgust without really knowing for sure quite why:  Hannah and Peprah were signing for free; but, right across from them were the Houndstooth Twins charging $5 for THEIRS.  Does anyone else think this is a damning commentary on our society, or am I just an old fart already at 41?

That is
disgusting.  They did not even go to UA.  Are you sure it wasn't for charity or something?  I can't imagine the University letting them do this and pocket the money.  Did you go by the tent where Prothro, Freddie Roach, Darren Mustin, Keith Saunders, Todd Bates and some others were signing by Denny Chimes?

by bamavicki on Apr 14, 2008 7:35 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I hope it was for charity
But, honestly, I don't know.  There were no signs saying it was for charity.  And, a friend of mine told me that he ran into them at a club recently and they were charging $5 to have a picture taken with them then too.

Don't get me wrong; if I could charge for my autograph or to have my picture taken, I would too.  I'm not disgusted at them.  I'm just amazed that people would pay $5 to have their picture taken with them.

I'm still
disgusted.  It's like being in a foreign country and paying for a picture of somebody's horse/cat/dog/parrot/fill in the blank.  They are NOBODY!!!  I wish I had been there, or maybe it's better I wasn't.

by bamavicki on Apr 14, 2008 2:28 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

bamaFrazier...
Hey dude, try only posting about things you know about. Hannah was charging 10 bucks for a black and white pic. His other items were way more expensive than that. He also only gave one autograph per person. Oh and what club did your friend see the twins at where they were charging for pics?

by tidepride27 on Apr 15, 2008 12:35 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I know what I saw
I didn't say Hannah wasn't charging for pictures and items, just not for his autograph.

twins
I usually don't post on here but to set the record straight all bama twin proceeds went to the Bryant musuem. Yes so they spent their Saturday raising money for a school they don't even attend. Who cares if they don't go to UA.  They are fans. And if they are such nobodys......everyone sure does enjoy talking about them.  And Peprah and Hannah charged.....not sure where their proceeds went.

by UAfootball on Apr 14, 2008 11:45 PM CDT   0 recs

Thanks
for posting and clearing that up.  I'm happy for anyone and everyone to be Bama fans, but to get paid for it would be something else altogether.  That's a fine thing the twins did, but if you look around, UA overflows with beautiful girls wearing houndstooth hats.

by bamavicki on Apr 15, 2008 4:12 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

response to "beautiful girls...hats"
that may be true....but they arn't identical twins

by UAfootball on Apr 15, 2008 10:39 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Thank God
I am glad to hear that.  I wish there had been a sign, ... or maybe a more prominent one, indicating that the proceeds were going to the museum.  Also, refer to my post above.  I never condemned the twins.  As I said, I would charge for my picture too, if I could.  I just questioned the judgement of people who were paying to have their picture taken with them.  Ah well, to each his own.
