Charity Bowl Update: Y'all ain't so stingy after all...

Just clicked over to FanBlogs to see how poorly we showed in the final day, and found this:

Cash donations made by college football fans: $20,176.00

Team Donation Standings: (Team Total Donated - (Smackdowns) = Final Standing)

1. Michigan $7,260.00 - (0) = $7,260.00
2. Ohio State $2,550.00 - ($170) = $2,380.00
3. Florida $1,820.00 - ($100) = $1,720
4. Alabama $1,075.00 - ($50) = $1,025.00
5. Georgia Tech $700.00 - ($0) = $700.00
6. Texas $605.00 - ($10) = $595.00
7. FSU $470.00 - ($0) = $470.00
8. Oklahoma $440.00 - ($0) = $440.00
9. Auburn $455.00 - ($45) = $410.00
10. Virginia $400.00 - ($0) = $400.00

Wow. We went from a paltry $180 last night to $1,075 in one day. That is absolutely amazing, as is the $20,000+ total that blog readers and college football fans raised in just three short days. Hats off to the Michigan (boo! hiss!) and tOSU fans that went so large in this, a big thanks to all the Alabama fans that pitched in at the last minute to more than double the Auburn total, and a hearty huzzah! to Orson and Kevin for coming up with the idea.

I did the $25 for Bama and $25 against Auburn which they allowed.

In hindsight, I should have pressed my luck and said $20 for Bama, $15 against Auburn, $10 against Tennessee, and $5 against Ohio State because one of the EDSBS posters is a TOSU troll.

Auburn really gave more.

Do you guys remember that old bible tail about the rich man give some of his money and the poor women all of hers? Well that was all the money they had! They even had to sell there cow and goat to get that.

waytago everyone!

i left civilization on the last day of the effort and spent the last two weeks wondering how things turned out. needless to say it was a nice surprise to dig through the rbr archives to see this post. that’s an outstanding and commendable effort on the part of everyone who stepped up to give a bit for this cause. back patting may now commence in earnest.
