Your RBR Friday Random Ten

Since I've got a Hank Williams song and Norah Jones doing a Hank Williams song, here's a YouTube block of the greatest ever.

For any n00bs, the Random Ten is a simple affair. Take the music listening device with shuffling capablities of your choice, turn said shuffling capabilities on, and list the first ten songs that come up. No cheating to make yours look cooler.

1. The Jayhawks - Red's Song
2. Hank Williams - Thank God
3. ZZ Top - Tush
4. Golden Smog - Yesterday Cried
5. Norah Jones - Cold Cold Heart
6. Mike Ireland and Holler - Right Back Where I Started
7. Bruce Springsteen - Lonesome Day
8. The New Pornographers - The End of Medicine
9. Gomez - Charley Patton Songs
10. Dead Can Dance - A Passage in Time

Lovesick Blues

My favorite Hank! Somehow I knew you would include it. I must be ill or you are cause you’re suddenly redeeming yourself. I won’t hold my breath for this anomaly to continue, but you did have a LIVE man last week for the ladies. Try for 2 in a row, please?

Don't worry...

...you’ll be right back to hating me before the day is over. It’s such a rollercoaster relationship with us…

I'm sure..

It’s more fun this way, don’t ya think?

I like some Hank as well, but here's my 10

1. Eddie VedderSetting Forth
2. Hayes CarllGirl Downtown
3. John CougarI Need A Lover
4. Blues TravelerAnyway
5. Blind FaithWell All Right
6. KyussDemon Cleaner
7. The KillersWhen You Were Young
8. What Made Milwaukee Famous - Resistance St.
9. The Cardigans - In The Round

Todd/Nico2.0…just a thought, but since we have some new features at our disposal, how about for every Friday Random 10, (us, the posters) pick a song from our ten and post a video of that song. Can’t wait for the book too…Thanks for the hard work all 3 of you put in.

That's what...

...the fanshots are for. Maybe every Friday everyone can post the song they like most from their random ten and one Monday we’ll pick one for the main page?

That...

...sounds good to me

Balance

Sex Type Thing – Stone Temple Pilots
Meeting Across the River – Bruce Springsteen
God Only Knows – Beach Boys
Underneath Your Clothes – Shakira
World Falls – Indigo Girls
Why Can’t This Be Love – Van Halen
Cinnamon Girl (Live) – Radiohead
High Hopes – Frank Sinatra
Take Your Mama – Scissor Sisters
God Don’t Make Lonely Girls – Wallflowers

STP’s date rape anthem (obviously, taking the con in the “is date rape good” discussion) is balanced by the Beach Boys, Shakira and Van Halen love songs in the middle, no?

And I’ll take my cover up against yours, Todd…

You can have it...

...I don’t like Radiohead or Neil Young.

Maybe Nico should have used...

...Dr. Nico instead of Nico2.0 when we made the switch.

by Todd on May 16, 2008 5:03 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Indeed

“Docteur Nico” is sweet sounding. “Nico2.0” is sweet AND tech-tight though. The million dollar questions: . . .is RBR-Nico famous with a knife? , does he make housecalls? , is he “board” certified? , can he prescribe proper medications? , does he have any addictions? (ALL dr’s do. . .and “women” count as an affirmitve “yes” to the latter question)

nice mix btw Todd. and if RBR Nico gets the nod on any of the questions from above, your New Pornographers song definitely becomes “Song of the Day” here at RBR, no?
