When tiger fans come callin!
I hope when and if any AU fans come over to check out rollbamaroll that we show class and treat them they way we would want to be treated because the below post was one that I had responded to a tiger fans post about their current win streak over us and just wanted to enlighten him that it is not the longest 9 consecutive is and that is held by bama but unfortunatly they have a bad apple or two when it comes down to class and respect for other teams fan base. We should be able to have open friendly banter between us the TIDE FAMILY and the Tiger following w/out all the drama. I definitly took offense to them prejudging our incoming freshman and calling them criminals w/out even knowing them. That kind of classless negativity is simply not needed.
a little class now, no need for animosity so soon I in no way was taking any shots at your team all I was simply stating was the facts about the records between alabama and auburn that was somewhat off on one of the other post. The 6 wins you guys have had is nothing short of impressive by all means BUT…..... if you check your past the longest consecutive win total would be 9 straight held by…..the tide! I also said nothing about you all not beating us again or any such kind of nonsense I think you might want to reread the last two sentences of the original post before getting all spun up. I along with other bama fans pull for auburn up til the Iron bowl so that both teams come in undefeated and represent the state of ALABAMA well but it is such misunderstanding and animosity toward the other teams fans that keep people from being able to have a good, friendly discussion and understand where each fan is coming from. I do think it is very wrong to pre judge someone and especially high school kids of being criminals or anything negative with out having any knowledge of the people you are judging NO MATTER WHO YOUR TEAM IS! As far as CNS goes if your team had went through the rash of bad leaders or coaches like we have I am almost positive AUBURN would have also jumped at the chance to bring in a quality football coach to revive their program as well so dont down us when you would have done the same! FYI I hope that all TIGER fans good and BAD know yall are more than welcome to visit, comment, and make friendly connections with BAMA fans at rollbamaroll w/out animosity or negativity like the following paragraph.
Bammers Bammers everywhere. And not a win in sightGREAT! Now we get to deal with Bammers on the page telling us over and over how our streak is ending this year. Should make the site a lot more interesting. It’s a shame that they’ve been saying the same thing for the past 5 years (“Enjoy the Iron Bowl win , won’t happen next year”). Last year we were supposed to get lit up, but it didn’t happen. Tide fans forgot that “It’s a process.” Well hold onto your hats Tiger fans because here we go again. According to rolltidejunk its a rather short process (only one season and one top ranked recruiting class). Oh well Tigers at least we were lucky enough to take a couple from them, huh? GIVE ME A BREAK. Season hasn’t even started yet. They haven’t even arrested any of the new recruits (that I know of) and Saban hasn’t even begun denying recruiting violations yet. Let’s watch a couple games before we start forecasting victory Tide Fans. Welcome to Trackemtigers. Mind your manners.
FanPosts are just that; posts created by the fans. They are in no way indicative of the opinions of SBN and the authors of Roll Bama Roll.

You know...
You can defend the Tide, but it just riles our rivals. We have had a long tradition of beating them when they were down, and now we have been in their position the past decade. It’s a never ending battle, and unfortunately there will be the whacked out fans that instigate most of these blow ups. I have just resigned myself to not saying anything to our rival blogs or reading them for that matter. The only site I really go to is this one and a few other Bama blogs. I don’t even post on Tidesports, cause it seems that all the radical chop your head off fans are there. I stay here cause I know the people on here know how to have CLASS. The winning will come, and when it does our rivals will know it. They don’t need everybody and their brother telling them. Say what you want to say to other Bama fans, but have class in front of your rivals.

thats what I was doing
I in no way shape, form or fashion was predicting any win in the future OR showing a lack of class by any means. It really threw me for a loop when I read that one blog and just thinking that I could talk w/ them and inlighten on the true numbers out there and maybe hoping that I could come away with some good info and bantership with the other half since both teams are from the same state you know I thought that that fact would be some sort of understanding. I even told them that I hoped the win every game up to the battle for bama so as to make our state shine and the possible win mean that much more (if that is possible). To your thing about Tidesports what happen there I was under the assumption that tidesports was only alabama fans perdominatly I would not expect to get grief from there too.

I am hardcore...
...and I would only root for that other Alabama team if it meant it would help us win the West. Waaay too much water under that bridge since I have family that went to the Barn.

I can only smile because
that sounds kinda similar to the paths that I have crossed as well. You know that saying that unfortunately you dont get to pick your family even though some times that would be easier. Again hardcore bama fan + classy lady = A RARE FIND

Weell...
I messed up and married an Aubie fan, and that hasn’t worked out to well, but my in-laws like me so I guess that’s a plus. Hey, rolltidejunk…I wasn’t saying that you had no class or anything like that. I was just saying that with blogs and anonymity…rivals and us on blogs just don’t mix, and I just stay away from it. Bamavicki…I totally agree about rooting for them if it helps us.

I appreciate
advice this whole blogs and web site communities except for rolltide.com is all new to me and so I guess I am learning some things the hard way but at least I am trying and I have this awesome safe haven to fall back to where every body knows your name and yes I was humming that tune while typing it thinking of cheers. So I am curious how does it work for your situation come Iron Bowl week and after if you dont mind me asking.

There's been...
...some talk thrown around about a RBR tailgating get-together for the Iron Bowl. Do you ever come to games?
by bamavicki on May 24, 2008 1:05 AM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
ah yes,
well I use to go to as many as I could when I was home now it is alot harder for me to get back home on leave so I can make it to a game I definitely miss the adrenaline rush and the special feel that happens once you enter into a 92,000 fan depth stadium of crimson and white and then the alabama anthem starts to play….... um sweet home alabama ya go ahead everyone ya know you want to sing no shame in that. Seriously though that would be great to enjoy a southern passion with southern people again that is something you dont get any where else.

I'm sorry...
...but SDBama, what the hell were you thinking? Never mind, I know, but you should have realized certain things may wear off after a while, but the TIDE is FOREVER!!!

LOL...
bamavicki…I have no idea what I was thinking, and believe me I know the TIDE is forever!! She is just like a lot of Aubies I know…not diehard. Plus, our marriage will not be much longer. Maybe, I will have a chance to get it right. Rolltidejunk…what service are you in? I’m in the AF up in SD. The situation was rather simple…we never watched an Iron Bowl together, and never said anything afterwards. Basically, we acted like the game didn’t take place at our house. The funny thing though…her mom (Aubie fan) always watched Bama games and then called me to tell me how they went. The whole time I was in Iraq the first time, she would tape the games for me too. She just NEVER says RollTide!! I might convert her…lol

I am in
the air force as well stationed in nebraska right now and I freaked people out when I was deployed they could not understand how with every thing going on around us all I was worried about and was thinking was how my tide was doing. What is your duty title? Oh and by the way thank you for your service.

Vehicle Operator
You know us as “the bus drivers”, but we do more than that. In Iraq, we kick Army butt doing convoy’s for them. Back at home station is different…Have to get used to not shooting at people when they don’t get out of the way…lol j/k. I love the airman that work for me, cause without them…we would be in deep **. You are serving just like me, so thank you too. What do you do for the AF?

Really,
I deal with age guys all the time they maintain the equipment that we use sometimes. What’s his last name I might even know or have dealt with him at some point in time. I know of one that is a huge steelers fan that is a TSgt. and I think he is either getting out or has orders on of the two.

You know...
The AF is a small world, and you probably do know him. TSgt Strauser… he and I was Dorm Managers at Kunsan together back in 06’. I don’t know if he is getting out or not, but I know he just got back from Qatar not too long ago. Yeah, he’s a Big Steelers fan…his truck is yellow and has a big Steelers emblem on it…lol I’m sure you couldn’t miss it on base. I have been in for 11yrs, and EAFB is my 5th base. Yeah it’s always good to have Bama fans wherever you go.

The name
sounds familiar if I saw his face I bet I would remember him. I always fly with one of their age guys when I am on alert so chances are I have worked closely with him if he has flown at all. And I cant agree more nothing can lift your spirits more if you have at least one person by your side that understands the passion and dont think you are crazy.

I know what you mean
SDBama78 about some of the other sites. I was booted from one because I wrote something critical that pissed a lot of those “we’re going to win the National Championship in 2007 because we’re Alabama!” fans off. I wasn’t even being hard on the Tide, I was just saying that we didn’t have a lot of depth and it was unrealistic for people to expect as many wins as some of those people were predicting.
I don’t go to the Auburn or LSU sites because I know there are a lot of hotheads there and I don’t have anything to say to them. I don’t talk trash when we win. I don’t ever. Never. I never taunt an opponent and I don’t even participate in the Rammer Jammer chant because I don’t agree with it. I don’t want to discourage people from doing it, but I just don’t see it as something I personally would/will do.
That said, I don’t want to hear a bunch of Auburn or LSU fans talk trash, especially when they’re 18-23 year old kids who just started following football in the last few years. If they talk trash, they’re really stupid to do so because they’re only setting themselves up for a major embarrassment when we finally do beat them. Perhaps that will be a good lesson learned. But most of them will probably find a new team when that happens, so they don’t have to eat the slice of humble pie fate has served them.
I guess I don’t have any fun with the trash talk (I’m not talking about getting angry, arguing, or defending oneself, but I am talking about taunting and rubbing in a victory). I think it disrespects the sacredness of the game and throws all the goodness of competition out the window. That’s just me, though.

I hear what your saying too...
I work with a multitude of different college fans…i.e. LSU, tOSU, Texas, Arkansas, UGA, and Florida. So, you can imagine the heated battles that go on around the shop. My reasoning (this is just my thinking), kill them with kindness, and thoughtful team talk. If they trash my team back…oh well…let the teams do the talkin’. I just can’t stand it…it’s like high school drama that I left behind years ago.

Auburn fans are just not important enough to get into a pissing match with. They will never come remotely close to our tradition and devotion to our team through good times and bad. I went to their site recently because I thought they had already switched to the new format and I wanted to see it. It was pathetic with their most recent diary being from 2 months ago about our arrests. Why would you want to post there? I’d be ticked off 24-7 if I read the tripe they spew and I have better things to do. Besides, I don’t want to talk to a Barner any more than I would want to date one and orange makes my skin crawl to look at. The trolls are pretty bad at tidesports.com(both SEC Tigers teams), and I do not wish them here. I would rather talk to people who know what it’s like to be CRIMSON TIDE and that’s a nonnegotiable fact.

I guess I expected to much
I know I saw the same thing on all their post that 2 months was the most recent and I could not believe it THEN I ran across the comments about our kids that are there and the ones that are in coming being nothing but criminals and I got real pissed I mean it is one thing to comment on some one that you know first hand to not be on the up and up but not on 18-20 yr old kids that are excited and earnestly trying to better themselves by getting a education and becoming part of greatest family they could be a part of. I really did not expect the response that came or all of their crap info they put out to be the truth but instead it is far from it almost to the point of delusional at times. I also agree on the dating thing I actually went on a date with this lady that I did not know was a AU fan until after I had already picked her up and taken her to eat and thats when the date became real awkward and went down hill fast. It goes with out saying I havent do that again. It seems to be a pretty rare find especially being stationed away from God’s country to find a woman who understands the importance of being a tide fan. roll tide roll

that is funny
ya it wasnt a blind date but you know how some AU followers are they dont exactly claim their ties until it suits them. She knew right off where my loyalty lied but I got the wrong impression at first. That would be the lowest of low for someone to set you up knowingly like that. By the time I got her back I felt like throwing my self under my truck.

It is nice to try...
but it isnt practical. There is too much venom there for some of these folks. If you go away they just try to take over. If you say nothing they get worse. It comes to the point were you have to be rude sometimes. Otherwise they will try to cyber bully you. I could give a damn what most people think about me. But some things are off limits and have absolutly no place, (not even on line). I try to be polite and courteous, but if they want to play on words with me, I am more than equiped to embarrass them. And dont mind it one bit.
As they used to say back home. Dont start no shit, Wont be no shit.

yeah you hit that nail right on the head..
You know I was thinking that since they have beaten us these past years that their demenor would be more calm and not up tight but… they seem to still get just absolutely pissed and on the defense when you mention bama or your a fan. Maybe the just dont know how to deal with winning or being classy about it and I know it is not all of them at least I hope not. I unfortunatley take more that words on a computer to get me to my breaking point and when I do get there through I have no witty come backs or comments its more physical if it gets that far but as I said it takes alot. I guess their are those who try to be the computer tough guy and that just makes me laugh. roll tide roll.

well....
generally the best argument is the most informed one.
Simply put, Auburn has done nothing that Bama hasnt done more of and better. With the exception of NCAA probations. Auburn truly owns us in that department…. lol
And the 6 in a row thing is just a cover up for being the new kings in underachievemnt in the SEC.

you know....
it is kinda funny how even with us out of the picture for so long and even in recruiting that they never really dominated or won a NC. At best they put togther a lot of wins and competed for the top spot in the West but unless I have forgotten something (which is possible) they always finished 2nd best so what do you think their response to that is?
