Is it just me or....
Everyone is getting so excited about the Mclaren kid. In my limited knowledge of college football recruiting, didn't we just recruit one of the most highly touted qb's in the country (jackson). I just wonder what the thinking is recruiting and signing two quaterbacks who both have the talent to take us the next level. I know its good to have multiple players at each position, but what's going to happen when one or the other gets frustrated with the lack of playing time. It could turn out like a Matt Mauck situation at LSU when one waits for the other to leave, but just wanted to know your thoughts.

The best teams
Look at our recent teams, for example. We would have a talented player playing beside an average player, a poor player, and another average player. The good teams (USC, LSU, Florida, Ohio State, Oklahoma, etc.) have talent across the board. They don't win every game, but I'd take their squads over some of the teams we fielded the last few years.
At one point, USC had nine or ten four and five star tailbacks, most of whom were underclassman. They also signed the top receiver recruit in the nation three years in a row (I think) and now they have two former five star quarterback recruits (Sanchez and Mustain) plus Aaron Corps (who'd start for a lot of teams) and they have a commitment from Matt Barkley, ranked as the number one quarterback recruit in 2009.
The competition, team attitude, and depth helps them. Hopefully it will do the same for us. I'd rather have too many talented prospects than too few, you know?

So, to sum up...
If you can recruit a ton of good players, that's never a bad thing. What's the worst thing they can do, transfer? Most people aren't going to transfer because of competition because sitting out a year will really hurt your chances of making it somewhere else.
