....two people have had Tenacious D show up so far today. :p

What about. . . .

. . .in yours (Nico), you had Orchestra Baobab’s “Sutukun” and CapStu had Regina Spektor’s “Baobabs”???? Any of you two ever read (or did your parents read to you, as mine did- Antoine de Sainte-Exupery’s “The Little Prince”? Baobab’s ring a bell from that?

Gotta be one of the finest children’s/adult’s story ever written. Way way way before Jonathan Livingston Seagull and the glut of self-help books that are ubiquitous today. And it’s A CHILDREN’S STORY!

Baobab’s. Brought me back to my utes.

Mustangs and Stephanie Seymour

Hey OTS and Nico- how about Stephanie Seymour for our Weird Science experiment? And please don’t tell me they really crashed that ‘68 Mustang GT (or Fastback?) or was it a ‘70 Mach 2? I couldn’t tell? But it sure was painful watching Slash f_ck that car up, real or not. Hard to get happy after that one.

The RBR 10 for my morning and yours: (promise, I’m not cheating. Got my iPod back this past Tuesday)

1) Santogold – “You’ll Find a Way”
2) Unkle – “Reign” (featuring Ian Brown)
3) Presets – “A New Sky”
4) Robert Gorl – “Darling Don’t Leave Me” (featuring Annie Lennox)
5) Brighton Port Authority – “He’s Frank” (featuring Iggy Pop)
6) Santogold – “Shove It”
7) Solomon Burke – “A Minute to Rest and a Second to Pray”
8) Black Kids – “I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You”
9) Goldfrapp – “Eat Yourself” (Yeasayer Remix)
10) Duran Duran – “Say A Prayer”

(only 2 weird ones, RGorl and DD? Whew!)

Stephanie Seymour

It’s funny looking back on that time period. She was one of the main celebrity crushes of my youth. I was a Guns n’ Roses fan too, but man I was pissed off when she started dating Axl.

Brian Cook...

...is still presupposing Nick Saban’s sins without any credible proof other than that he doesn’t like Nick Saban and REALLY REALLY REALLY wants something shitty to happen to some Alabama players so that his tidy little worldview isn’t upended. He’s also still a dick. Once all the numbers are actually worked out we’ll go over it again. Just guessing is ridiculous.

by Todd on Jun 13, 2008 12:23 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

methinks mr. cook smarts still from the events that occured on oct. 9, 1999.

by kleph on Jun 13, 2008 12:40 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'm sure he was vindicated

by the Orange Bowl that season. What was that kicker’s name again? Pflugner?

I will disagree with Brian that Bama is rooting for someone to get injured, but I don’t believe that it is “guessing” Saban over-signed is right either. He, from all indications, appears to be over the cap by at least 2. Will it work out in the long run? Probably.

Besides, the ‘95 loss was much worse.

by formerlyanonymous on Jun 13, 2008 4:13 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

What he is "guessing"...

...is that Saban and his staff are evil bastards that have every intention of screwing kids out of scholarships that deserve them.

by Todd on Jun 13, 2008 7:54 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Our little "Napoleon"...

...recently said in his remarks after the annual Nick’s Kids charity golf tournament that 23 players in the 2008 signing class had enrolled in the first summer school session to add to kicker Corey Smith and wide receiver Chris Jackson who enrolled in January and “back count” for 2007.

“I think 23 guys enrolled; we’ll probably have a few more enroll next (summer) semester and make a decision in August as to who comes to camp, and who waits until January to come to school,” Saban said on Thursday. “We’ll see how all that works out. It hasn’t worked out yet.”

That sounds like some of the players in school now might grayshirt.
