1. A medicine that relieves pain.
2. Anything that calms, comforts, or soothes disturbed feelings.

I'm headed to Best Buy tonight to pick up my copy of NCAA '09 and fully expect to spend the entire weekend letting it's sweet, digital anodyne relieve me of at least a few day's worth of anxiety over the deliciously close yet still so far away season.

Played it last night at my buddy's house

fantastic. Graphics look much improved, i.e. different sized players on a line, for instance, look different. Great animation. Thinking about picking it up today!
