Helmet Clash!

ESPN's "College Football Live" returns today and they have a cool contest going on. Its called Helmet Clash. Basically they have a matchup each day and you get to vote on which team has the coolest Helmet. The first one is Miami vs Georgia http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/story?page=helmetsmiamigeorgia

Alabama is up against Nevada on Thursday. I thought this would be a good way to show our support and plus its college football talk baby!

Blasphemy

I love Georgia’s helmet and the fact that they have the Georgia “G” on the goal lines at their stadium. If it were Miami’s old gold helmet with the Coast Guard flags, maybe.

Did Tulsa steal...

...Miami’s old helmets?

According to The Helmet Project...

They appear to have been adopted about the same time. In 1966 Tulsa had a white helmet with the hurricane flag and some other weird stuff going on. In 1967 Miami used the gold helmet with the hurricane flag. And in 1968 Tulsa changed from white to gold, still with the flag. The logos aren’t even remotely identical other than using the hurricane warning flag.

georgia has

UGA's red or black unis...

Looks a lot better than their white unis. I’m not much of a black fan, but since UGA has black in their colors, it makes total sense to have a black uni.

I’ve never liked Miami’s uniforms, but that’s probably because I’ve never liked Miami.
