Just how tall

are the Auburn defensive backs again?

I can’t wait.

It's a good thing he's got that kind of vertical and size

B/C when JPW airmails a couple, maybe he’ll only get his hip fractured instead of the internal bleeding which naturally results from free safeties blowing him up

lol

good point!!

That's all we need...

…to contribute to the legend of Julio Jones as Superman — a photograph of an innocent bystander watching him lift off into space.

I wonder

who photoshopped out the wire holding him up above that mortal man?

by rhinoskin on Aug 15, 2008 9:32 AM CDT reply actions

who?

I’d love to know who photo-shopped this, Look very closely at his legs, especially the one on the side of the coach, Also, Check out the center of his body, it kinda looks forced, obvious photo-shop, but as such, “some people just want to believe”

by Malaxian on Aug 15, 2008 10:41 AM CDT up reply actions

I don't think it was photoshopped

Look at the air on his stomach blowing the jersey up – the same kind of wrinkles you get when jumping in that position. Also, what kind of pose would he have been in to get the picture? Not really an “obvious Photoshiop”, eh? Ya know, sometimes you just need to take things at face value. The inference of others on this board being dellusional is stupid.

Look Closely

Look Closely at HIS Right leg, look very closely, it looks to me to be on the wrong way, lol

/Skepticism

I’d love to wrong, but it’s shopped IMO

by Malaxian on Aug 15, 2008 12:37 PM CDT up reply actions

malaxian!

you are an idiot, do you even know who julio jones is??? if you did you would know that this photo would not have to be be photo shopped! next time check your level of foolishness!!!

by cmyster94 on Aug 15, 2008 1:31 PM CDT reply actions

No need...

…for personal attacks. He’s just expressing some skepticism. We don’t all have to agree on everything, but let’s at least be civil when we disagree. We’re all fellow Bama fans, after all.

LOL

……I am sure that Julio is athletic enough to jump over tubby’s ears, however, it doesn’t change the fact that his leg looks like it’s screwed on the wrong way!!

I am a huge bama fan, been to home games for years,
 however,
this IS photoshopped!
welcome to the interwebs!
(props to NLS)

by Malaxian on Aug 15, 2008 2:38 PM CDT up reply actions

Wait a minute...

…I don’t know about photoshops (or the interwebs), but there is something weird about the picture. Look closely at the man on the ground. Notice how you can’t see his left arm? That’s because he is squeezing Julio’s butt-cheeks, which is obviously what made him be able to jump high enough to grab the ball. Now, how many times does that happen in a game? Twice, at the most.

Plus, if you do look Closely at HIS Right leg, it looks to me to be the right leg of none other than Ryan Pflugner (with some slight changes made). Keep your eyes open, boys. There’s some chicanery going on around here.

And i thought i was a skeptic

Im not saying that there is NO WAY it could be a phony but come on! Lets try not to read into everything!

Receiving core is fine.

The receivers are good and possibly great however, it’s the guy behind the center that is suspect and everyone knows that ,but won’t say it. Jones and the rest are a talented group, possibly the best in the SEC and Wilson Isn’t. I hope and pray that he(J.P.W) has gotten better this year for all of us.

al.com notes that the photo has been running uncredited, but it was taken by T.G. Paschal and found on a rivals.com photo gallery. I’m sure the skeptic will still….uh….skept?…..but just a little more info to go towards the camp that says “yes, he can actually do that.”

by Todd on Aug 15, 2008 3:30 PM CDT reply actions

sorry!

look i know i came on strong and i apologize, but i realy dont think it is photo shopped! and as for the whole leg on backwards thing, i can see where your coming from but i think its an optical illusion if you look closely you can see that its just the placement of his foot!!! ps no hard feelings.

by cmyster94 on Aug 15, 2008 3:43 PM CDT reply actions

Heres a questio

Why is this so impressive? Thats about a vertical leap that any WR should be able to do. ..maybe im wrong but im not wowed by it.

I'm of the same mind...

…here. Glad he got the ball, but it’s not like his heels are at the guy’s shoulders.

by Nico2.0 on Aug 15, 2008 5:07 PM CDT up reply actions

Why did he have to get up for the ball anyway?

Who threw that pass so high in the first place, Hmmm! You can get your man wrecked if he is being guarded by a head hunter in the secondary.

by Tide in Texas on Aug 15, 2008 4:08 PM CDT reply actions

Ideally...

…that’s the kind of jump you make in the corner of the end zone or along the sideline. If a receiver has to go up like that in the middle of the field then you’re right, that was a bad throw and he’s looking to get creamed. EZ or sideline, though, the best a DB can do is try to out jump him or take up enough space that he can’t get a foot inbounds when he comes down.

by Todd on Aug 15, 2008 4:11 PM CDT up reply actions

Or make him pay

After playing C.B and Free safety in a situation like that , I would really make him think about it before he went up again.

by Tide in Texas on Aug 15, 2008 4:16 PM CDT reply actions

That's asking for a flag....

….though, so unless it’s a “message” hit, as you suggest, early in the game I don’t think a DB would lay him out with a dirty hit.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
